Yep - I had the exact same injury/surgeries. The first 12 hours are critical because of the tendona/muscles/etc, especially if the bone breaks the skin. The infection risk is massive and can cause permanent issues and/or amputation.
DCH basically fricked it up and got him infected and it ruined him.
