There's no other way to spin it. There is nothing charming about lining your outfield wall with contraptions that you might see in the local trailer park in Oktibbeha County. Ole Miss and others passed you by over a decade ago in facilities.
Congrats to Scott Stricklin and the current admin for realizing their stadium is currently one of the worst in the league and needed to be updated.

You make a pretty good point. To be in a position to choke, you need a seat at the table. Ole Miss can't even get a spot on the waiting list for a reservation. Maybe girls softball will be your breakout sport.

In the early days every team had fans park outside the outfield to watch the game. Mississippi state is one of the only programs that hasn't evolved from that and they're getting attention for that.

I like the old parks. they reek of history and charm. I am sorry that Dudy Noble is getting torn down and the "redneck party" in the outfield is history.
the vast majority of fans are not like me though. they want modern facilities that pass the eye test (and the bathrooms don't reek).
baseball is a nostalgic game to me. I loved the old Box in Baton Rouge. everything is so antiseptic these days.

Ole Miss had an SEC West Co-champions banner in their stadium.
Ole Miss hasn't played I a conference championship game, EVER. In any sport. ( that may not be exactly true but don't want to look it up).
Ole Miss' head coach will likely be given a show cause in the next few months.
Ole Miss is a university to pity at this point. May even be worse than what Mizzouri has turned into.

We don't even have to worry about Ole Miss choking. They can't get there to choke.

Football - 6 Conference Championships
Men's Basketball - 2 Conference Championships
Baseball - 7 Conference Championships
I'll even go as far as looking into other sports, just to prove your theory incorrect.
Women's Basketball - 1992 Champs and went undefeated in conference
Men's Tennis - 1996; 1997; 2004; 2005; 2009
Women's Tennis - 1998
Softball - 2017 (literally we won our conference a week ago.. and beat your arse just like we do in every other sport, including football)
