If he was a projected first rounder, it wouldn’t have mattered if we hired an amazing OC. He likely would’ve been gone.

That is true also. He got a "return to school" grade from the advisory board.
I still contend that he would have went pretty high after the shorts and t shirts session. He's got a great release and he throws as good a deep ball as anyone. His accuracy improved this year even if his completion % didn't take that big of a jump. We had a ton of drops which may indicate he throws a "heavy ball". His one area that really needs improvement is progressions. He tends to lock onto his first read too much.
I do think he made the right decision. We return pretty much everyone on offense minus Witter and Moore.
Everything is in place for him to secure a spot in the top half of the first round. Should not be a surprise to anyone if he ends up the first QB taken in next year's draft.
