Don't understand why so many people on here already have decided that Napier is a bust

I enjoy laughing at Florida as much as anybody on here, but Napier has only been on the job for less than a year. All Saban disciples and Saban himself always have crappy seasons in Year 1 in the SEC. Saban lost to Troy in his first year at LSU and Louisiana-Monroe in his first year at Alabama.

Kirby Smart lost to frigging Vanderbilt and Tech, got blown out by Ole Miss and damn near lost to Nichols State as a 49 point favorite.

And at least he's recruiting at a respectable level, something Dan Mullen refused to do.

Maybe Napier will end up being Jeremy Pruitt or maybe he'll end up being really good. Year 2 is put up or shut up time for SEC coaches. Every SEC coach of the last 20 years who was ever worth a damn started kicking arse in Year 2. Check back in 10-12 months basically.

I mean, it's Florida. You should be able to at least be decent right away. No excuses.

So what you are saying is if LSU had hired Sunbelt Billy, we would have had a sucky first year instead of winning the West? Ok, I gotcha....

Fans are like the players. They expect immediate success. You used to see coaches have 5 years to get the program righted. High school recruits were the lifeblood. With the portal now that has changed. LSU and USC had 3 year rebuild jobs but with the portal were able to correct the situation one year. The portal has everyone expecting you to fill holes immediately and it is now possible to go from 3-9 to 11-2 in one season.

Because they’re idiots who think you can make a judgement like that after only one season

Same convos were being had about Kirby after year one. The need for instant gratification is consuming and turns people into emotional idiots.

I agree, it's a bit too early to judge him.

However, this right here is the type of shite you don't want to see.

He’s got several things going against him. He could succeed if they gave him five years, but he will never make it that long. I don’t expect him to see year three.

Probably back to the sunbelt.

How many SEC schools are giving 5 years to get good?

If he wanted that maybe he should have taken one of the lower tier jobs that have opened up so he could learn a bit

It is too early to judge him. I think that there were a lot of thugs in the Floria program, and it will take Napier some time to fix that situation. And by the way, I do not like the Gators at all.

Well he’s off to a pretty shitty start and that’s the important thing. Who knows if he’s a good coach or not? Chances are he will fail like the 3 coaches before him and the gator nation will suffer. At a minimum even if he succeeds in bringing them back they have at least two more years of mediocrity. Ftmf.

Exactly. At least give Napier two years before you decide to judge him.

Yeah, but UGA had a lot (A LOT) of fans that didn't want to see Richt gone. Their collective asses were chapped and took every opportunity to criticize Kirby and remind everyone that Richt was a 9.8 win per season coach.
