By your logic, OU also sucks.

We had 100 more yards of offense and held you to zero third downs

So if we stuck, OU sucks.

Just saying.

I hate to brag, but we’re sort of experts at perpetual disappointment.

That being said, I’m cautiously impressed with what Elko’s team is doing … the offense stood up against ND when we needed them to, and the defense did the same against Auburn.

Building some good momentum in the process. But it’s way too early for any “crowing.”

If I recall, most of you were very skeptical of him, though there wasn't any reason to be anything other than skeptical, according to my one Aggie friend. Winning close games is still winning. Two tough opponents, two wins.

“Most?” I’d say the vast majority thought it was a great hire. He’s exactly what we needed after the Jimbo debacle.

He’s already been a successful DC for us, he went on and did some minor miracle-working stuff at Duke, he’s liked by his players, understands and loves the culture at A&M — as well as the frustration level of our fans — and is a smart guy. He’s a no-nonsense, likable Xs & Os coach who doesn’t make excuses.

But as has been echoed repeatedly in this thread, we have a long way to go. And we’re not known for our ability to sustain success throughout a season. And so far, Mike Elko seems to have things heading in the right direction.

Well, I only have the one Aggie friend. Maybe he's not a high quality Aggie.

I’m guessing he’s a quality guy.

We have too many flaws to feel like world beaters. Hopefully Elko and the team keep their head down and keep working.

Penalties are my biggest concern right now, and that’s one of the more “fixable” issues for a team to have, so that’s a positive.

I’m most optimistic by the fact that we’ve found multiple ways to win (offense against ND, defense against Auburn). This is a team effort group, and it’s been a long while since we’ve been able to say that.

They don't play Tennessee, Ole Miss, Bama or Georgia. Looks pretty easy for a SEC team.

Hopefully we can put it together against State.

State scares me. They have been a thorn in our side for a long time. They have won quite a few games against us as underdogs. Take one game at a time guys.

Lol….really? You probably shouldn’t bet the singlewide on it. We already have that one every other decade loss to Arky out of the way.

Cautiously optimistic. Penalties need to be cleaned up. O-line needs to gel.
