Why would you say worst fanbase? How easy is it to be a Bama football or UK bball fan? Or Florida or UT 10-15 years ago. It takes intestinal fortitude to be a state fan. We've played for 3 national championships in the last 5 years and had the #1 team in football. Yea we started and stayed in the gutter for a long time, but we've climbed out and are reaching for that summit. That's an impressive list for the last 5 years, Ole Miss you last played for a championship (kinda) when Eisenhower was president. Any fan that stuck with state the last 20-40 years I'd say is one of the best fans in the country.

Nope Ron Polk couldn't win a National Title with Will Clark or Triple Crown Winner Rafael Palmeiro because he's the most overrated shitty coach we've ever had.

He didn't win in 85 because a pitcher got taken out by a comebacker. Polk may be overrated but sans him sec baseball would resemble big east football. And our baseball program would be similar to ole miss basketball

Not true. The SEC has enough $ to where if he didn't get anyone to care about it then, we would've in the 2000s.

Seriously though, we plugged our asses and watched the world go by, when we could have really done something in baseball. We didn't even start caring about football till the 1990s. The 19 fricking 90s!! LT's ship led us into a stagnant lagoon of passive aggressiveness, and arrested development in all things sports.
