-Golden boy QB, probable Heisman winner
-raining TD passes every week
-good defense, but untested b/c no close games

-struggle if they don't score 50?
-lose to (better than they look) division rival mid season?

we comin!

I keep telling you guys not to, because the game is in Louisiana. Just stay where you are.

'08 Texas averaged 40+ points a game. Not all that comparable to this LSU team

08 Texas was better than current LSU. Colt McCoy is a better college QB than Burreaux

Didn't Oklahoma's QB go undrafted?

Really think that's where it falls apart. Bama is still very talented on defense and coached by one of the best. Oklahoma seemed very average defensively that year...

Are you talking about Sam Bradford, Heisman winner?

I was thinking of White.

My gump mind went to 2003 Oklahoma when I read the title.

They still had Brent Venables as DC.

You mean Sam Bradford, the #1 overall pick of the Rams?

more like 2003 Oklahoma. Up until the Big 12 championship game they absolutely coasted through the regular season.

Through the regular season their average score was 48.3-13.2. They led the nation in scoring offense and were second in the nation in scoring defense. They had the Heisman winning trophy winner at QB who, going into the Big 12 championship game, had thrown 40 Tds passes to only 8 INTs. Oklahoma was a HUGE favorite against 3 loss Kansas State and got absolutely waxed.

Now, I'm not saying that Alabama is a fraud like Oklahoma turned out to be, but the complete dismissal that LSU has any prayer of beating Alabama, at home, as the #3 team in the country, is quite hysterical to me. Alabama should beat LSU and, in all likelihood will, but the blind confidence I'm seeing from a large number of Alabama fans is ridiculous.

We were average on D for most of 2004-current. For some reason, having both Brent Venerables and Mike Stoops as co D coordinators worked much better than either individually (BV was in 2008).

On another note, we would have had a much better shot at Fla had Demarco Murray not been injured in the final regular season game. He had 1,000 yards that season & we were one dimensional at the goal line.

Even as a LSU fan I would never compare Oklahoma to Bama.

Bama will be exposed Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. Arkansas scored 31 points on Bama. Arkansas. Think about that. Bama beat only one ranked team this year. When you have a weak schedule then the stats are always distorted.

Even the “eye test” can deceive you because you are playing weak teams so it looks good visually.

Most of the players with Bama now have never played LSU at night in Tiger Stadium. LSU has defeated 3 teams in the top 10 this year, including #2 Georgia. LSU dominated Georgia. Bama will be exposed.
