Smart does not have to ever win a championship to avoid the hot seat at Georgia.

LMAO!

The mighty West REALLY put up a fight vs Bama last year. Their average victory margin was over 30+ ppg and the same in 2018.

The "2nd place" West team lost by 30 last year and 29 in 2018.

Oh yea * year and losing a record number of players to the draft (something your team or an east team cannot fathom).

Uga and Florida had more draft picks than you last year dumbass

Wrong.

Maybe check your facts before resorting to name calling.

The GREATEST SEASON IN FB HISTORY (LSU 2019) the tigers lost 14 players alone to the draft thus affecting our 2020 season.

It’s fine… we live rent free up there and they can’t stand they don’t have a seat at the grown ups table. The sec east is for children and they can’t handle the west yearly grind.

LSU had 14 picks in last year's draft.

The most recent one

Guy said an east team doesn’t know what it’s like to lose draft picks and I merely pointed out they were beaten by two east teams in the most recent draft, so his point was wrong.

You misunderstood his point.

He was replying to someone who disparaged LSU for losing to Missouri and he was saying it was because LSU lost 14 players to the draft (and 17/22 starters) from the previous year's (2019) team.

How is winning by 30+ ppg a "grind" for Bama?

I think I should add some context about what I think counts as the hot seat.

I don’t mean they’re on the way out the door immediately. For example, I think Malzahn had been on the hotseat at Auburn ever since the 2015 season until he was finally terminated in 2020. He even got extended at some point after that but it was clear fans - the general pop and important boosters - were never entirely sold on him after that flop season in 2015.

More specific to UGA: I think the 2008 flop season was the beginning of the turn in Mark Richt’s perception in Athens. The tough break in 2012 hardened those sentiments in some but softened with others. The 2015 season ended him though.

I feel like every coach who had some success but ends up getting terminated has an inflection point season that doesn’t end his tenure but in retrospect you look back and say “that is when the fanbase began to turn on him.”

I think 2021 can be that season for Smart if he doesn’t win a national title. He may coach another half decade but I have to imagine that the scuttlebutt around him starts sounding a lot like post-2008 Richt discourse.

Besides UF and occasionally Clemson what top 10 team do y’all play in regular season?

Nice deflection.

I'm not the one stating the East is some mighty grind of schedule but played 3 last year and probably 2 next year.

But I would still like to hear how winning by 30 ppg equates to a "grind" for the team won the West last year.

How so if the champion of the division is usually resting its players by the 4th qtr or sometimes by halftime?

Still waiting for an answer (without deflection)

You’re focusing on recent years, they were not doing that 4 years ago. Year in and year out the west is a grind. Yes, bama does win, but there is always a game by a west opponent where they have to grind the win. Once again, you can’t claim the best college FB season without grinding it out like LSU did against west opponents in 2019.

Also, I mean if you want to claim that let me refer you to 2019 SEC championship game or the Peach bowl.

I’m hoping he and Mullins keep their jobs for a long time.

I like both of them.

If his 2021 is similar to richts 2006….then he better not face plant in 2023-25 like richt did in 2008-10.
