Does Smart get on the hot seat if UGA fails to win the national title in 2021?

I am not saying that Smart would be near termination but you gotta think that his reputation amongst people who write the big checks to the AD in Athens will start to turn, right?

Almost consistently gets his guys to the SECCG so he isn’t going anywhere. Not to mention been to the CFP already.
Unless Muffin starts making waves in the East, he’s golden.

I will give you the benefit of my yrs of wisdom and observaton. Smart has Les Miles disease. He can shake it if he opens up that offense. Otherwise he is going to be a perennial second. JT Daniel may be that missing link he needs.

I think UGA fans should be somewhat encouraged that they were willing to toss it around consistently with Daniel on the field. Offense still wasn’t really “modern” enough to take advantage of their QB+WRs in my opinion though. I don’t know why he appears to be more dogmatically committed to the conventional pro-style offense when his longtime boss discarded that approach while he was still working under him.

Right now, Kirby is Saban circa 2011.
If he ever becomes Saban of today regarding his offensive philosophy, y’all best look out.

The SEC East is weak…
And yet LSU lost to Missouri last year. Thus making your statement weak.

I certainly think this is a playoffs or bust kinda year. After that who knows, injuries, matchups, etc can have so much impact on games so long after end of the season.
We have to show we can use all the offensive weapons we have, that’s for sure

agreed it's a playoff or bust kind of year. If we make a NY6 again, people will be pretty displeased. He will get a free pass if JT gets hurt or something.
But to answer your question directly, no he won't be on the hot seat if we don't win the national title. We will just get the hype train going for 2022, rinse and repeat

He should be if they don't at least make the CFP. They'll be the favorites to win the SEC.

UGA has had elite talent since 2016. It’s finally time for them to shut up and win something. Clemson the next door neighbor has. It’s time

Monken is going to get Sark type OC money at UGA after this year. Hopefully we can keep him for another 1-2 years after this year. Kirby has completely turned over the offense to Monken.
The question for Kirby is going to be more aggressiveness/ havoc on defense. That battleship started to turn last year. Muschamp should help speed it up.
Last year was 1st year of Monken and 1st year of more aggression on defense. Hopefully it pays dividends this year. If those two things happen this year we should be in the playoffs. Regardless recruits seeing their options in both the updated Offensive and Defensive schemes should continue to pay dividends on the trail. Noone is going to say Kirby’s seat is hot except other fanbases.
Kirby has a good shot this year and three QB’s to take another shot next year. He is putting us in a position to compete with recruiting and assistants. Just need to QB to get us there now. Hopefully it’s JT this year.

No, UGA has learned to settle and in a couple of years they can just be gifted a spot in the playoffs.
