Just looked at their schedule; It's pretty brutal early on for them. I know their QB has some speed he torched us last year and put up some points. Curious to see how Kiffin fares against the heavy weights early on. Doesn't mean they won't end up bowl eligible because schedule does lighten up after Week 7

Week 1 vs Baylor ?
Week 2 vs SE Missouri (W)
Week 3 vs Auburn
Week 4 @ LSU
Week 5 vs Bama
Week 6 @ Vandy (W) most likely
Week 7 vs Florida

That was the one game last year that I have not rewatched yet. Happy for that game in hindsight because our Defense was much improved afterwards

+ new coaching staff and system/scheme overhaul
+ COVID delays

Will be a lot of growing pains. Team will be better down the road for it.

A backloaded schedule would be more beneficial for the team, but regardless I believe Kiffin will score some points this year. I'm excited to see his game planning early on.

Also a good year to be a season ticket holder. Having most likely 3 top 10 teams coming to Oxford early on must be nice

Who is the HC at SE Missouri? I am not sure if he happens to be a former SEC HC?

I think 3-4 is the most likely scenario.
Vandy will actually be a huge game for them because if they go on a 5 game losing streak, the wheels might come off enough for them to blow their only 3 winnable conference games after that (AM, MSU, Ark).

That would make them Tenn/Ark-tier which is a huge step down. I don’t know how you recover from a season that bad as a head coach.

This pandemic has been really bad for a lot of programs with new coaches, but I think Ole Miss might be in the worst position here.
Ark, Mizz have nowhere to go but up. Leach has some talent to hopefully help him pull off a 6 win season.

With a schedule as rough as Ole Miss’s AND a new coach AND the pandemic stuff, they could very realistically have a disaster of a season. That would be disastrous for the Kiffin@OM campaign. Having a rough start is expected, but having a 3 win season type showing is not easy to recover from.

If we can win four out of our first seven, we should be a pretty good ball club. However, I’d be content with three. Doing that would mean we have to upset someone and beat SEMO and Vandy.

If we can win 3 out of our first seven, we have a good shot at bowl eligibility. We get UConn on Oct. 24 and GA southern on Nov. 21. We’d just need to pick off one of A&M, Arkansas, or State to make a bowl.

Very possible. We almost certainly won’t be favored in 5 of those games

Best case scenario I see for the rebel black bears are to beat Baylor, SE Missouri, and Vandy; meanwhile upsetting 1 of the big 4. I guess Auburn game would be best chance of upset since it was a somewhat tight of a game last year. But who knows. You can make cases for a 1-6 start or a 4-3 start.

God I love the offseason

They aren't beating A&M at Kyle Field. Not happening in 2020. Finna get lit on fire up in here.

We should beat Vandy. We whipped them last year and they don’t return much (and we do).

We’re 2-1 at Kyle Field since y’all joined the conference.

Texas A&M is one of those teams that any SEC team can beat

That's why I chuckle when I see the 10-2 predictions for this upcoming year in Aggieland.

I wouldn't pen in a win just yet against SEMO.

That Missouri Valley Conference can easily spoil some bottom feeders in the FBS.
