We have a much better pass rush this year and a much better secondary, yet Mallett seems about the same except he is throwing more picks than last year.
lmao. No.

Mallett is BY FAR the best qb in the league

Do you even watch the other teams play? Put Cam on Arky and you are undefeated. Put Mallett on AU and they have 3 or 4 losses.

Mallett is a damn good QB but he plays very tight when the chips are down.

all this talk about Mallett choking... his SEC completion percentage is close to 65%. The only sub-60% game was against Ole Miss when he was coming off of an injury from the prior week.

Mallett's been much more consistent this year, and his numbers are similar to Luck, who is still getting Heisman talk despite playing in a much inferior conference.

come saturday, we ought to see a really good game. i hope Mallett can keep playing well, as he has all season

If you consider Cam a "quarterback," but I see him as a running back that can throw. When I say best quarterback, I guess I should just say best passer.

Actually Mallett has regressed and our offense is nowhere as good as last year. LSU shouldn't even worry about practicing for this game because all they need to do is show up and collect the win. After all, the Hogs' 2 wins out of the last 3 games was pure luck.

LSU clearly dominated last year’s game and I’m not sure how the Hogs got it to OT. Must have been luck or LSU was looking forward to, oh wait, we were the last game so I guess it was just luck. We are so outclassed playing LSU I'm not sure why the games have been so close over the last several years with the Hogs winning 2 of the last 3. How in the hell is that possible?

Maybe, that LSU isn't near as good as their ignorant fans think they are or perhaps Arkansas is better than given credit. Probably a combination of the two and the Hogs will win this game to make it 3 out of the last 4. That will really chap your coon asses.

ha, total freak out. He is putting up similar numbers to last year. a few more picks but a better completion %. I'm sure it will be a close game, it always is.

Cam has a higher passer rating and a higher completion percentage than Mallett. He doesn't pass as much though.

If you want to say Mallett passes more than any other QB in the SEC....well then go ahead.

I would like to see his completion percentage compared after he's been knocked down or hurried a few times. He doesn't like hitting the ground at all.

So you think Mallets game against Bama was the biggest choke job you have ever seen in your life?

I know you coon-asses are a bit dense because I am related to a few of them but have a bit of perspective on things.

Makes sense but I have to agree with the OP's question and here's why.

I think you got the running game going better but it doesn't compare to Bama's. McElroy isn't Mallett but he doesn't get shaken up by pressure.

That said the running game didn't set up Bama to the point where we couldn't pressure the qb or stop them.

I don't see Ark being that much different.

Given your recievers v bama we and play single coverage a lot and bring it and stop the run.

I've never been overly impressed with Mallet. His accuracy is usually off in big games, and he folds under pressure as has been posted over and over in this thread. Mallet's stats against highly ranked SEC teams the past two seasons:

09:
Alabama - 12/35 160 yards 1 TD and 1 INT
Florida - 12/27 224 yards 1 TD
LSU - 17/39 227 yards 1 TD and 1 INT

10:
Alabama - 25/38 357 yards 1 TD and 3 INTS
Auburn - 10/15 96 yards 1 TD (left due to injury)

Color me unimpressed.

I still can't believe how an LSU fan can criticize an Arkansas quarterback.

I pulled the rankings for the pass offenses LSU has faced:

*1st # is ranking in passisng offense, 2nd # is ranking in total offense*

UNC - 25/60
@Vandy - 112/111
MSU - 102/57
WVU - 85/93
Tenn - 45/72
@Florida - 66/71
@Auburn - 70/5
Bama - 35/25
Ole Miss - 83/38

Against there 3 highest offensive ranking opponents (@ #5 Auburn & #25 Bama @ home. #38 Ole Miss @ home), they gave up an average of 440.3 yards per game.

Arkansas is ranked 3rd in the nation in passing offense and 8 in total offense.

things that make you go hmmm
