Does Gary Danielson have the best football mind of any commentator around?

I know Gary can get on people's nerves, but sometimes he really impresses me. He always knows what the penalty is and who it is on as soon as the play is over. He immediately knows what the defense's mistake was after a TD. He catches things that no one else would ever catch.

He's definitely my favorite. My only problem is it's hard to understand some of his commentary because he's got that crimson dick in his mouth.

Gary is one of the best in tbe biz, I love listening to him. Its hilarious that bama fans think hes blatantly anti bama and everyone else thinks he lives to cheer for bama. People just see what they want to see.

Like him or not and I generally do, he definitely has more insight than most commentators.

Romo.

But yeah, Danielson is good. People don't like him because they think he loves Bama. Beat Bama and he will prop your team up as well. He was effusive in his praise of LSU when playing Bama last season.

I like Gary and he knows his shite. If Bama is playing LSU and it's a CBS game? Lol good luck on this website though.

Yes, he and Blackledge. He has his obnoxious habits, but in terms of seeing something important and explaining it in a way that everyone watching can understand..........he's as good as it gets.

The "he likes a team" thing is obviously idiotic, but he does get caught on certain things (most of the time things he says or predicts) and just will not let them go. That can be pretty obnoxious.

In my opinion Chizik is the best commentator on tv right now. Gary knows football but he gets man crushes on qb's and gushes over silly things. Chizik just tells you like it is and why it is.

Last year during a game on the Score Board there had to be a sticky saying all Danielson threads would be whacked. People still started them.

I mean he's in the uber elite tier of SEC Jimmy Rustlers.
Cam Newton level, and almost more impressive because of his longevity.

The haters won't admit it, but when the SEC leaves CBS for the bland, boring ESPN lineup next year.......people are going to miss the frick out of Gary.

It blows my mind.

Brad: "And a flag is down"

Gary: "Yeah I think they are going to get #27 Joe Smith on illegal motion"

It never fails

I like him and he doesn't bother me at all. He's just a front runner. As already stated, people go into it looking to not like him and hear what they want to hear.

Give me Todd Blackledge or G-Mac any day over Gary. Herby also.

When he stays on the actual game he is very good. I think he gets a little I guess sidetracked might be the word sometimes. But no question about his knowledge.

His biggest weakness IMO is when they review a play. Sometimes I talk to the TV and say "come on, Gary. What the hell are you looking at?"
