Even if it's with rotating four team pods grouped into two divisions yearly?

It would add common opponents to everyone's conference schedules and reduce the need for tiebreakers to determine the SECCG.

No. Why limit your scheduling like that?

Yes, this system sucks. I think it’s a placeholder just in case more teams are added, but we need some structure.

The main reason is all of the strength of schedule discrepancies we see within the conference.

No.

One of the few positive changes to the formats lately has been getting rid of divisions.

The real question is where does the SECCG belong in this 12 team playoff and if SoS is going to matter again in the near future.

Whichever pod LSU winds up in, LSU fans will whine about their pod being the toughest and all the other pods are cupcakes.

In some way I kind of like having 1 huge table of standings without divisions. But it is weird for us to have LSU, Bama, OM, A&M, Oklahoma, and Mizzou on a South Carolina schedule but no UGA, UT, or UF. We basically played an SECW schedule.

You mean like the way the East was much easier than the west for most of the past 15 years?

While we watch shitty east teams like Mizzouri make it to the SECCG when they had no real business being there because they were gifted an easy SEC East schedule?

So many years we got SECCG of insignificant importance. We get the occasional Alabama vs Georgia or Alabama vs Florida, but most years the SECCG is just a match up of the best team and the 3rd or 4th best team just because the best 2 teams happen to be in the same division.

All that shite is gone.

But suddenly it's an issue that some teams like Texas randomly get them instead of it being Missouri getting them every fricking year?

Divisional play gave you much better comparable schedules and cleaner tiebreakers, but at the cost of limiting opponents on the other side. Worked great at 12, not so much at 14, and utterly impossible at 16.

Increasing the number of games to 9 would solve a lot of problems. Keeping it at 8 limits your options a lot.

They are gonna extend the playoffs to 16 teams, add 1 more conference game, and forgo the CCG for all conferences.

Other than 2019, Alabama was the only good team in the SEC west for the last 10 years of its existence.

It's why I mentioned rotating four team pods split into two divisions.

Btw, if you liked this year's schedule, it's next year's too.

Yeah, everyone has their shitty systems because they don't know when to leave shite alone.

That's why we got this stupid 12 team playoff right now and a transfer portal that's fricking up the sport.
