No. I have zero confidence in BK. Losing to USC in the opener last season was a pathetic loss. He hasn't shown an ability to lift his teams. One signature win at LSU. Some really bad losses last season.

That was last year. They bring in the #1 portal class in the country.
LSU had the 8th most talented roster in the country last year.

Southern Cal was 15th.

I'll be honest. We stopped tracking regular season losses when they never mattered

Well those regular season losses to Vandy and Oklahoma last year definitely mattered. Lol

Florida State. I don’t blame LSU fans for blocking them from your memory.

By whose logic?

LSU had trash DT’s, trash CBs, & trash safeties. The talent level at those positions, last year, weren’t even close to SEC standards.

Our WR’s & RB’s were barely average. Our best WR was hurt until the 6th game of the season. We started a Walk on RB and a true freshman finally started playing in game 3.

Nope. I can realistically see us starting the season 2 - 3. Have to show tremendous improvement in all phases of the game. We absolutely have the talent to win. But can we make it come together on the field?

Sorry, they are wrong and don’t know shite.

Jacobian Guillory was, by far, our best DT and he was lost for the season 2 weeks before the USC game. The talent level at DT wasn’t even Close to SEC standards.

Our entire secondary was pure trash talent wise. The safeties were the worst, talent wise in over 30 years. The CB’s were beyond weak and not one could have made the two deep for any LSU team from 2001-2019.

You don’t lose Nabers and BTJ at WR and remotely think your WR talent level is even close to really good, much less elite.

Again… we started a walk on at RB.

Sorry… I follow LSU recruiting and our roster very closely. Our talent level, and particularly, on defense was ridiculously poor.

Look Dude, LSU didn’t even have the 8th best roster in the SEC.

Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, So Carolina, OU all had better rosters than LSU.

It was painfully obvious how significantly better Bama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and So Carolina’s rosters were than LSU’s last year.

When we played Ole Miss, I told everyone around me that this was the first time that I could remember since 2008 that Ole Miss’ players were all bigger, stronger, faster than LSU’s. There was a serious difference in talent level between the two teams. Kiffin coached a really poor game that night or Ole Miss wins by double digits.

Your fellow Tiger, he of the sidewalk variety, swears by the 24/7 talent ranking. And he is the smartest guy here. Don’t believe me? Just ask him. I think it is flawed because it is based on recruiting stars and doesn’t take into account how a player develops or how they fit within a system. For example:

quote:

Our entire secondary was pure trash talent wise. The safeties were the worst, talent wise in over 30 years. The CB’s were beyond weak and not one could have made the two deep for any LSU team from 2001-2019.

Per 24/7, LSU’s secondary was VERY talented.

SS: Gilbert -4 star
FS: Ryan - 4 star
CB: Burns - 4 star
CB: Alexander - 4 star

On paper, LSU should have had one of the best secondaries in the country last season. They didn’t. That is proof that 24/7’s methodology is flawed.

Why do you think this was? LSU has recruited very well the last several years. There is talent on the roster. Here is LSU’s national recruiting ranking the last few years per 24/7.

2023: #5; 1 five star; 17 four stars
2022: #12, 1 five star, 6 four stars
2021: #3; 2 five stars, 16 four stars
2020: #4; 3 five stars, 14 four stars

That is 7 five stars and 53 four stars for a total of 60. LSU had vastly superior recruiting rankings than Ole Miss or South Carolina. Almost 3/4 of LSU’s roster should have been 4 star or better talent. With three of the four classes being top 5, the talent should have been there. Why do you think that didn’t show up on the field?

So you're saying BK can't recruit at a level that is even top 5 in the conference if he didn't even have the 8th best talent in the SEC?

Well then....

Do you guys know football? Do you watch SEC games???? Seriously?!?!

You read 247 articles and think you know what you are talking about.

There isn’t a single coach in the SEC that would have traded their secondary last year for LSU’s. Not one!

You guys must only watch Bama football games and read articles. If you know football talent, at all, you could obviously see a serious difference in talent level between LSU and So Carolina, Ole Miss, Bama, and Texas A&M last year. Our talent level, specifically on defense was the worst since the Curley Hallman years.
