Does anyone like the direction of college sports?

Only LSU fans

NIL and unlimited portal transferring killed college sports years ago. When that was set into motion, with the way they designed it, it was a foregone conclusion it would end in the steaming shite pile situation we find ourselves in.

Nobody enjoyed the BCS era or the poll era etc. etc.

The direction is gawd awful and I find myself losing more interest season after season. The reason I liked college football is because it was NOT the NFL. Now college is worse than the NFL IMO. NIL and the transfer rule have all but ruined the game for the fan. If you are a player, it is great and you can go to where you make the most money but IMO the game is biting the hand that feeds it. It seems as though fans are starting to turn away from the game...what will the PTB do when enough fans turn away and they start losing money? I find myself doing other things on Saturdays when I used to be glued to the tv from ESPN Game Day until the West Coast games played out. I watch my team now and only modestly keep up with the rest of the league now. It is slowly dying IMO.

We have no NFL players on our roster. The ones that have verbally said they'd go to LSU were also recruited by several other programs, including in the SEC.

Texas has an OL that participated in 2 NFL minicamps. Where is the outrage?

His flailing and flopping on Trindad and the Texas dude piss me off while Tennessee did things right and are playing a true freshman at QB and I dont even hear them bitching at all

If we can stay away from granting exemptions from following the established laws of the land, and squashing the legal protections and rights of student athletes, I think there is a vast opportunity for college sports to thrive.

Hearing myself profess this reminds of arguments I've made about immigration law: We don't need new laws and 'rights' and appalling exemptions. Just follow and adhere to the laws that already exist and everybody who wants to make money can make plenty of money.

Will I miss the days bag men, and the illicit houses/jobs for parents, 'grey' shirting, injuries equalling loss of scholarship, coaches/admins making seven figures while the athletes are getting in trouble for having an extra meal? No.

No. Surprisingly, I won't miss those days.

I will miss knowing the rosters inside and out. I already miss the days when I knew every head coach in the conference and a pretty large percentage of those at the major schools - something I lost track of years ago. I've never been a fan of the NFL and that was part of the reason. But I'd rather have NFL-lite than ever have the disgusting NCAA have any disgusting exemptions. The NCAA can burn in every plane of existence. Hell is already assured.
