This a really good explanation of the injury this doctor thinks Tua likely suffered. It also compares the injury to Bo’s and explains the differences.

The comparisons to Bo’s injury are always comical to me. Bo’s pulled his own hip out of the socket and it was back in by the time help arrived. It wouldn’t have happened if his legs were not so powerful. He had to convince them it had come out. Tua’s was definitely different. 30 years of medical advances are also on Tua’s side. Full recovery is not completely guaranteed, but the advancements are on his side.

I hope it isn’t for the young man’s sake. That was a career ending injury for Bo.

Dont ever compare Tua to Bo. Bo is a legend and Tua will be forgotten within a few months

Actually it has. They do robotic surgery in orthopedics now and there are even doctors doing ankle replacements. Plus, implants have gotten better.

They may not be ground shaking improvements, but things are always getting better.

AORN - skip to the second paragraph.

I believe because of Tua's ankle injury he inadvertently caused his hip injury. As he was going down, he adjusted his fall and flexed his legs up towards his body. I am sure he did this as an attempt to prevent the defender from falling on the lower part of is legs/ankle. This is how his ankle injury occurred. By doing this, it increased his risk of hip dislocation. All the weight of the fall and the defender on his back created greater force from the Femur head agains the acetabulum, causing the dislocation.

I should have written that better. The doctor didn’t say they were the same, he just compared and contrasted them.

Yeah he has some good content. He already had one video from earlier this year explaining Bo’s injury.

Scary stuff. Hope he has a full recovery

And it explains why he was in so much pain. That has to hurt pretty bad.

But what about all the other players injured yesterday. We want video comparisons and posts declaring concern.

All college players who project as early rd draft picks have school provided insurance with a monetary payout based on the level of an estimation of diminished prospects from injury resulting from team related activity. Hopefully Tua fully recovers but in this real world it will at least give him some financial security in the event there's some long term loss of function.
