Do you think LSU would have scored a td if no pf was called?

Yes or no

Don't mean this in a smartass way, but we'll never know. I'm under the impression that Les would have still run the ball until 4th down, resulting in a FG. But he's obviously not scared to get a little aggressive. Would have definitely given y'all more options.
It would have been automatic 1st down right? Alabama wouldn't have has as much time on their last drive in that case.
I haven't re-watched the game yet and was way too drunk to realize what the hell was going on by that point. In your honest opinion, was it an unforgivable PF call?

Easy answer to this question: No.
LSU would have ran it on all 4 plays, just as they did. Because they were more worried about running the clock down than anything. 3 points in most games would have been enough points to shut the other team down. 50 seconds and a kick that doesn't go out of bounds - and LSU still probably would have won. You got the 3 points you were going to get anyway.
Results of the 3 run plays for LSU that drive.
1st play: 0 yards(PF play).
2nd play: 1 yard
3rd play: -2 yards
So even without the penalty, the net yards on that drive for LSU was -1 yard. You would have had an easier FG, which was all Les really wanted to begin with.
Les wouldn't have tried to pass, because an incomplete pass stops the clock and gives Alabama a free timeout for the next drive - which Les knows Alabama is going to get(the drive).

No, we fumbled the ball on our own 6. They started 1st and goal and they had no chance at a 1st down at any point.
There was no way in the world Alabama wasn't getting the ball back while calling timeouts.

They didn't get the first down in 2012 that would have clinched the first down did they?
LSU was never scoring by running vs. our goal line defense.
WE BE MEAN BEACHES.

You guys would have torn him to shreds if he did anything but run it. And we had been rotating DLs all night. They had fresh legs. Since we know you are running it too no way you score on two plays.

Do you think LSU would have scored a td if no pf was committed ?

No PI was called and LSU didn't score a TD, so no.
Hypothetical question is not hypothetical.

So why did your team have -1 yards for the drive not counting the PF?

les wasnt going to throw the ball with basically no chance of a td after the penalty.
had lsu been five yards out, a short pass is much more likely, just ask ole miss

Well we were trying to kill the clock and were already in fg range. So why would we need more? More yards would have been nice but not necessary.

Do you think Alabama scored a TD in overtime after a pf was called?

Maybe, maybe not, but it was a legit PF.

No one could ever no, but given the momentum and where we were, I would like our chances a heck of a lot more than being at the 21. It basically took a touchdown 'possibility' off the table, which is really the disappointment from an LSU perspective.
