I know this will come as a surprise to you but SEC officiating as whole sucks arse but it is especially bad in basketball.

Basketball is way better than football. And orders of magnitude greater than baseball.

Weird how LSU fans didn't care till this year oh right they only care when they win at things like college baseball. At least you guys have college baseball, the ones who aren't clemson fans that is.
Still melting over the title game loss. Sad!

I'd rather watch a billiards tournament tbh. Then again I'm pretty huge into billiards. At least the rules are very well defined and if you frick up and lose, it's 100% on you. Hate the ticky tacky rules in basketball, as well as crap calls in football. The human element should only apply when the player messes up, not the people officiating the contest. Basketball and football fail at this consistently.

The NBA sucks. They play no defense. High school ball is better.

I love watching college basketball. I genuinely do.

I am also posting this because Georgia is 2-14 this year in the SEC and I don't want to be accused of only liking basketball when UGA has a good season in the future.

Shitty SEC officiating is the root of the problem with watchability
i watched gonzaga vs st mary's and the game definitely had a better flow. now, i don't know if that's because those two teams just aren't as physical as sec teams or it's officiating

It's okay. I watch the SEC games a decent bit, but I don't bother to watch the rest of the country until the postseason because the games just aren't important.

I think the tournament needs to be changed. They'll never shrink it because it's the NCAA's money maker (schools keep all the CFB money). They could play the first weekend on campus though or even the first two weekends. Home court would add at least some interest to the regular season.

The way the tournament picks non power conference teams is the dumbest thing in all of sports too. Throws a whole season of play out the window in favor of one weekend.

I love it but I love basketball. I do think the NBA is a much better product. The playmaking and individual skill of the NBA makes it better to me, but I like college ball also.

I feel like the non conference games for Auburn are better flowing than conference games. SEC basketball games in general seem to be overofficiated in comparison to non conference games for whatever reason.

I genuinely think the SEC officials are the worst in the country. I watch plenty of college basketball and no other games have so many ticky tack fouls called. Every game, one teams star gets in early foul trouble which plays a role in the outcome. Also seems there's always a bias toward the home team no matter what. That's the only thing that makes it hard to watch.

One of the reasons we made the final 4 two years ago, was because refs in the tournament actually allow the kids to play and any team that plays defense with tenacity can actually do their thing. Im not sure if it's because they're on a time crunch during the tournament, or just better officials, but the difference was noticeable.
