The 2003 NCAA Division I-A football season ended with an abundance of controversy, resulting in a split national championship. This was the first split title since the inception of the BCS, something the BCS intended to eliminate.

LSU defeated Oklahoma in the 2004 Sugar Bowl, securing the BCS National Championship, as the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll is contractually obligated to vote the winner of the BCS National Championship Game #1. Meanwhile, when AP #1 USC beat Michigan in the 2004 Rose Bowl, the AP voters kept USC in the top spot, and USC secured the AP title.

Wait, I want you to answer this so I know for a fact whether or not your a troll.

Do you actually think a loss to the #6 team away from home is a worse loss than losing to a Sun Belt team during your homecoming game?

Thanks, I knew college football (NCAA) went with the BCS Championship that year! Forgot it was the inaugural year. Funny...LSU is the one who walked away with:

That we were the sole winner of the BCS Championship?

No. I remember it clearly. I was there.

So that's the last time? I was thinking maybe 2011. It's been so long since you guys were relevant that it's hard to remember.

Yeah. Here’s my invitation to an 80’s party. My house. Don’t be late.

That is true. The AP also awards a national championship. Therefore, it is a shared title.

I think LSU has a better claim to the 03 title than USC, because of the amount of ranked teams LSU beat, but USC was awarded the AP & FWAA National Championships, both of which are legitimate that LSU did not win.

Not with the NCAA. Thanks for playing though.
