interesting....i haven't noticed that problem since he's been here. Wasn't LSU in the top 10 in 3rd down conversions last year?

I don't think a lot of your fellow LSU fans understand that Saban would probably be in Baton Rouge right now if the job had been available when he decided to end the NFL experiment.

Precisely. Unfortunately, every fanbase has insecure, uneducated idiots.

I love how Tennessee fans are still blaming Chavis for 2001. no credit for Matt Mauck who played his arse off and oh yah won a national championship 2 years later. Or no credit to Saban. Or blame your dumbass linebacker who had the late hit to injure Rohan. Noooooo, just blame the guy who is no longer around.

I don't now or have I ever hated Saban....he did'nt leave LSU for Bama. He left for the NFL, realized he made a mistake and came back to the best open job in college at the time. It is what it is.

I feel like we got our just revenge on Saban this past year knocking them out of the NC race like we did. We're square now as far as I'm concerned.

Blame the guy who is no longer around? Yes, typically, we are going to blame those who were associated with Tennessee in 2001, and who are therefore no longer around.

If your defense is better this year than that 98 team then more power to you. If your defense proves to be that good you will win the West this year.

I like Chief and wish him well, but I do not feel betrayed in the least bit. I was very glad to see him go.

When he had a DT 3 deep of John Henderson, Albert Haynesworth, and Aubrayo Franklin and couldn't stop Matt Mauck, I knew it was time.

When you mentions certain "lapses" he had in games throughout his tenure at Tennessee, perhaps the other coaching staff did an amazing job of making adjustments to his game plan, and perhaps the opposing team's players were just executing at a higher level and perhaps it was a bit of both. It happens when you play teams week in and week out with a talent level at or near yours.

I was frustrated as heck with what happened last year in the Arkansas game, an immensely winnable game but for two egregious break downs in the secondary. But, crap happens.

In 2008 against Auburn, I think Auburn had to convert a third and 2 to seal the game, and Tennessee's lined up like it was third and 20.

Chavis said he was trying to avoid giving up the big play.

Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban were laughing at the fact that the qb draw was working every time in 2001.
