247 is showing 100% to North Carolina. Big Bill Blankcheck knows how to play the game.

For Judkins, it ended up working out though. Since he was in a split role he didnt rack up as many touches, and NFL teams watch for that shite a lot more than they used to in the past. He had a lot of touches the first 2 years at Ole Miss.

He had ~200 touches at OSU this season, he probably would have gotten 300-350 at Ole Miss

They only have 1 prediction in so far, so of course its going to be 100%

Its from a FSU insider so I wouldnt attach much to it. UNC and Wisconsin are the only logical teams that have a need/the cash to do it though since the SEC is off limits

"Does he have any in good old fashioned CDs right now growing at 4-5% interest for the short term to grow principal amounts in the bank?"

I don't know if this is the case here, but you better believe that there are multiple guys who have accumulated so much debt by the time they hit the NFL draft that much if their rookie NFL contract is out the door the moment the contract is signed.

My neighbor is well versed in this and helps CFB player families navigate how to negotiate and explore all opps.

I talked to him over a year ago and he said ALL top ~50 player names you see in the portal are there because they have other offers.

They are advised to not enter unless there is already a plan in place. There are exceptions for stupid people/families. But its the same as you having a job before leaving one.

Its a whole under ground system that is going on and has been for several years.

So, short answer: Yes, Nico likely had multiple offers and was also navigating all the legalities of how to move on from UT with minimal damage to his opps and sued by Tenn.

It's looking more like Tulane and a big NIL cut may end up being plan B.

The thing with the QB position is that a lot of your value is in your command of an offense and ability to lead a team. By doing this so deep into the offseason, Nico basically undercut himself in both areas. For the same reasons, at this point in the offseason, unless you have an opportunity to jump to a team with a higher overall NIL budget, you are almost always worth more to your current team, whose offense and personnel you already know. There are only 3-4 teams with a meaningfully higher assumed budget than UT, so if UT isn’t willing to pay up to keep him, it’s basically an indicator to the rest of the market that the staff that knows Nico best does not believe he’s worth the money.

Even if he had a plan previously, I bet some potentially interested programs are having second thoughts because of the timing and the fact that UT, who has money, was willing to let him go.

Not being allowed to transfer to another SEC school also hurts, because that cuts out about half of the top NIL programs who could theoretically hit his asking price or close.

Yep I doubt anyone made a firm offer to Nico's dad of over 2.4 million TN would give him. He looked very pedestrian last season. His dad screwed up like that QBs dad at UNLV who had his son leave after 3 games over demanding 100K and now his son is at James Madison with hardly any NIL money.

All these dads need to do their sons a favor and get the hell out of the way. Help them find someone experienced and competent handle matters. Take advantage of the experts you have built in at any program you land at. Investigate, look around, see what’s out there but don’t shop your kid or negotiate for him. Help him get someone better to guide them. And not your cousin who had one undergraduate class in law school either. Real agents with certification and real lawyers.

the NCAA ... tell the courts and the lawyers filing suits, "Don't worry about it, from this point on, anyone playing sports will have to pay their own way to college, there will be no scholarships from this point on."

And the very instant the NCAA attempted to block a scholarship offer, or stop a school from making one, they would be sued into legal oblivion for attempting deny an opportunity to pursue a higher education - most notably to minorities. They would that lose that case every step of the way until the unamous 9-0 decision finally crushed them.

In 5 minutes all suits would have been dropped because these libs do not want to be seen as the people who caused many minorities to lose scholarships

The 'libs' would probably be the first ones to gleefully offer up lawyers for that inevitable court victory and big-time payout - though admittedly, their would be lawyers of every socio-political persuasion quickly lined up trying to get a piece of that action.

I don’t think they ever intended to leave. They were just so stupid in how they negotiated that they left us with no choice but to cut bait. And now that they have been cut loose they have far less leverage to negotiate with anyone.

Was Nico’s camp bluffing or was there an actual Plan B for if Tennessee kicked him off the team?

They had no plan if kicked off. He will find a home but not for the money they want.

Beck wasn't worth what Miami gave him. I think when Bowers left it showed he wasn't as elite as some people thought. Nico though has no reason at all in reality (except an idiot dad) to think someone else would give him TNs offer for this season.

Yes Beck had a plan. He left when the market was wide open, he was the top transfer option in the portal, and he had all offseason to learn a new offense.

This reeks of pure stupidity and a bluff that badly backfired.
