Was that 2011 LSU defense "the defense" all others are held to as far as LSU fans are concerned (like 1992 & 2011 defenses are for Bama fans?

No, LSU matches up better than Bama scheme wise. They win.

I don't think LSU loses at home. I also think they beat Bama. I am concerned about Georgia, and to a lesser extent, Ole Miss (sneaky against LSU).

+1

Pretty much this^^^. LSU will score 60 on A&M if they need to. Cameron has Mett playing at an NFL level right now.

aTm will do like they always do. Start out hot, then get demolished once the power teams get adjusted. They lose 3 games this year at least.

They got extremely lucky last year to beat bama. They have been cock riding that win all year.

This defense isn't as good as 11 no doubt. But people around here are going to be pretty sad when they finally see that our defense is actually good.

If ATM has the ball last and it's a one score game, ATM will win. That prevent D Chavis runs is turrible.

What? They went up 20-0 on the road, never trailed, had no turnovers, had less penalties and held the ball longer. And Johnny completed 77% of his passes and almost rushed for 100 yards as well.

I don't know how that is lucky.

No one thinks the LSU defense isnt going to be great this year. Theyll be top ten IMO. That 2012 LSU defense was incredible and all LSU fans seem to think it is their best in recent memory. However, that D gave up 533 yards to #21 West Virginia that year. They turned out OK, but everyone (in purple and gold glasses) seems to have written off this Bama defense based on giving up similar yardage to a much better offense than that WVU team. Just kinda funny to me.

No, I think the 2003 LSU D gets that distinction (courtesy of Saban).

LSU's 2003 defense was a good bit better than 2011. 10 of the 11 starters on the 2003 defense went on to start in the NFL

There are still plenty of question marks concerning the LSU D. However, I think the easy early schedule has really helped Chavis to identify where to focus on improving certain questionable positions. I expect Auburn to play a tough game. I expect LSU to win handily and It should be a better test than the last two games.

Offensively, LSU really needs a third and fourth receiver to materialize. Tight end play certainly improved and Dickson should draw opposing defenses away from any attempt to double team both OBJ and Landry. As long as this OL continues to play the way they have and avoids injury, LSU will be every game with, likely, the most balanced, disciplined offense in the SEC.

Yeah, that D was stacked. I was never so confident in a D. They only gave up 20+ points once and that was when Arkansas scored on the last play of the game when LSU had 55 points.

LSU will defeat Georgia, a close Game with Ole Miss if they take them lightly but with Cameron that is very unlikely, will bury Florida, will beat Texas A&M by controlling the Game by running the Ball when need be and Shorten the Field with the pass and Alabama they will just flat out beat them using their Offense as a Defensive measure to shorten the Game. LSU has a better Defense than anyone in the West side of the SEC and a little ahead of Florida by the time LSU plays Bama.

There is not another Offensive Coach like Cam Cameron in the SEC. He is the best on Offense and Chief Chavis is the best on Defense in the League. Together they will win it all.

Y'All think I am crazy by what I am saying, but just sit down and watch each Game. The TCU Game was a getting to know each other under fire and if you look at the Game fully, Zack over threw a few Passes that he is now hitting. With each Game they are still growing on Offense and there is no telling what they will be doing by the time LSU travels to Bama when they combine the Running with the Passing. I firmly believe LSU will have the best or close to the best Defense in the SEC. They are Young but growing together.

And sadly, one is no longer with us. He was also the only player on that team that I knew pretty well.

If not, how do you expect LSU's defense to hold us back if they couldn't stop TCU?

Someone is a bit clueless and just looked at the box score huh?

And they held Oklahoma to 70 less points than A&M did.
