That 2012 LSU defense was incredible and all LSU fans seem to think it is their best in recent memory. However, that D gave up 533 yards to #21 West Virginia that year.

Several things:

That was 2011 not 2012. LSU gave up a bunch of yards but the defense tightened near the ends of the field and they held WVU to only 21 points.

WVU that year was pretty sick on offense. They had Geno Smith at QB - who looks surprisingly effective as a NFL QB for how bad his supporting cast is right now. They also had Tavon Austin at WR - that name probably sounds familiar because he scored 2 TDs this weekend for the Rams. Those frickers were for real and they ran up 70 points on Clemson in a BCS bowl game to prove it.

The game changer is Tiger Stadium.. I don't care how well our D played against A&M last season, how well our O is playing pre-sec this season, or the fact that A&M has an average high school football defense at best. Tiger mother frickin' Stadium is why I feel comfortable about us winning.

I love how most LSU fans think it is a given they beat Alabama. That isn't the same D you put out there last year and it will show up vs A&M too.

As far as LSU's offense goes,Mett isn't Manziel. Bama matches up better and is more set up to slow an LSU offense.

You boys got some real tough ones on your hands before us and you play the Aggies right after Bama.

Good luck you'll need it.

LSU kind of got lucky with having A&M early.

Week 8 is early in the season?

LSU's athletic DL is a better match-up with A&M's offensive style. LSU's defensive style will probaly contain Texas A&M enough. Especially if LSU has a outstanding shutdown CB.

If LSU's offense can score at will on Texas A&M, they'll win.

This

After LSU loses to UGA, Bama and A&M, they will go right back to what they were complaining about before the season started.

But, but, but look our schedule
