Brigham took over the church and hauled them to Utah from Illinois in about 1847. They had fourteen years to hang him before the Civil War ever started.

Brigham Young wasn't any worse than a lot of other religious politicians in history.

And if God didn't want somebody to try to claim polygamy was wrong... He should have made it more clear in the Bible. Most of all of God's favorite guys all had extra wives and just like with slavery... God never actually prohibitied it...

Mormons are Satanic. They believe that they become gods in the afterlife and everyone they converted to Mormonism in the now will worship them in the afterlife. Joseph Smith was vile, Brigham Young was vile, and on and on. Focus on Jesus folks, that's it.

If by "God" you mean the term in the Anselmian sense as "a being than which nothing greater can be conceived", or the Aristotelian sense of a "Prime Mover", or Thomistic sense as the "Uncaused Cause", then no, Mormons don't believe in God.

I say that because their metaphysics is completely incoherent. When you reject the principle of sufficient reason and additionally believe that effects can be greater than causes, then you are left to accept whatever nonsensical statements a self-professed prophet may claim as divinely inspired. That is in no way a commentary on Mormons as a whole or as individual persons but a critique of their established theological framework. As it relates to the question, their theology is fallacious on several fronts and leads to an infinite regress which in no way has a terminus in a supernatural presence anyone would recognize as God.
