Correct. Until people stop watching that is the only thing that will truly end this.

NIL is just “legalized cheating” in terms of recruiting, so it’s nothing new. The price of poker has gone up, so we’ll see how sustainable that is.

The NIL aspect of player retention is new, and we’ll see how sustainable that is.

Expansion has been going on for decades, and the areas of interest from a regional perspective would always drive the TV market (The South and Midwest). The West Coast could not sustain on its own so now their eyeballs are suddenly very lucrative.

Don’t be surprised if Oregon and Arizona State are in the SEC soon, similar to USC/UCLA to the B1G.

In the future the SEC champ if that will exist could regularly lose 2-3 games a year.

It is hard to call it the SEC if a school like Oregon joins.

Expansion to super conferences (2 or 4) became our reality as soon as the playoffs became a thing.

This seems curious. Why do you think the playoffs had an affect on that? Not arguing against what you are saying...just trying to see the correlation.

People said Free Agency was not sustainable, yet contracts keep going up. Don't misunderstand me....I don't care for NIL, but I suspect we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Expansión, NIL all this crap who is actually pulling for it?
Nobody.

For now, most of us will, but it won't surprise me when that begins to change. The college football we all know and love is coming to an end.

Most of my married life... My wife has understood that fall trips and events have to consider when games are scheduled... This year ...and it actually started last year... But this year, I have three trips that conflict with viewing games and I'm ok with that

The only way that it'll be stopped is if the fans revolt in protest like the Europeans did when the Super League (or whatever it was called) was proposed.

In 5 yrs CFB may just be alternative to NFL with player contracts, etc.

The teams just license the University name and lease the stadium. Kids are not students just employees of the "team".

Lol, the fans don't matter in American sports, they all have skin in the game over there and actual influence.

Not even sure that would work...one it is too far gone. Second some of the European clubs are partly owned by the fans (supporters).

If it turns out to be bad and they get ratings like the xfl then there won’t be any money anymore.

Actually, I've watched and spent less and less. I'm sure it will taper close to nothing on my end. I went from a dedicated rabid fan to just not caring anymore.

I can see all of this for football because it is the big sport that rakes in all the money. But for the life of me I can't see it for all other sports being in a mega conference, traveling across multi time zones for their events. If at all possible this would be ok for football only and keeping all other sports in the old leagues, jmo.

Playoff expansion is my biggest concern even over those.

Not only NO, but HELL NO. They are killing college football with this BS , without any concern about us fans, whom actually pay the BILLS!

I don’t think the higher ups wanted NIL but probably thought it wasn’t sustainable to oppose it given some courts rulings.
