Who cares just let the season start.... Chavis is an ag now who gives a frick what he did at LSU. I don't care Chavis is an ag and Steele is a tiger that's it final no more. Stop beating a dead horse nobody cares
Please no one talk about Chavis, third down, court case, his recruiting style, how fat he his because its old news he may be a different Chavis at Texas a&m so yea

Tenessee fans warned me way back then about 3rd and ChaviMMs.

He turned out to be great, and did debunk that third down and Chavis shite

But in BIG GAMES, we consistently performed just as advertised. When playing the best with everything on the line- you don't have to drop back umpteen DB's playing it safe cause a good QB will find one or someone will screw up a coverage. And it hurts.

In big games, at the end, I wanna go at em and get a damn sack or turnover. That is LSU ball

Chavis is a genius against modern offenses. But I bet Les' caveman offense pummels TAM. I think Arkansas and Bama both beat him too.

Enjoy your victory against Miss St. and Auburn

Chavis held Bama and Arky to a combined 30 pts in regulation last year.

Not really his fault the LSU offense only managed a combined 13 points in regulation against them.

2009 season-now LSU has lost 18 games.

In those 18 losses...

- 73% of the time LSU defense held opponents under their season 3rd down % average.

- 89% of the time LSU defense held opponents under their season points average.

I bet if you run those stats for LSU losses in the 25 years prior to 2009, you will find similar numbers.

Watch how he does with Texas A&M players instead of LSU players.

"3rd and Chavis" really intertwines with big-game situations and how he doesn't know when to bring pressure/crowd the line.

Good luck dispelling "2:00 and Chavis"

LSU will not remain the #1 defense in the SEC without him. Chavis was the key to that machine

Well I guess LSU has had a lot of spare keys over the years, one named Muschamp, and one named pelini

Remind the class again how many points A&M's high powered offense put up against Bama.

The great secret among LSU fans on this board is that there were many of them, including some posting on this thread, who have numerous posts refuting and arguing against "3rd and Chavis" over the years. As late as the start of 2014, the myth of 3rd and Chavis was often hotly contested (and rightfully so).

the great secret among A&M fans on this board is that many of them were arguing that 3rd and Chavis was, in fact, real...then came the end of December 2014

Clemson 2012 - Your QB has an 11.0 QBR. Yes that is an 11.

Ole Miss 2013 - Your QB throws 3 interceptions in one half of football.

Alabama 2014 - Your QB has an 11.8 QBR. Yes that is an 11.8.

Did you want Chavis to also coach the quarterback position?

no, i just wanted him to hold onto a lead with under 2 min to go in a game

it's like y'all are intentionally obtuse. yes, his defense plays great the majority of the game. he will always have good "stats." but when the game is on the line at the end, chavis will completely change his defensive philosophy that got his teams in the position to win, and completely shite the bed. it's happened countless times over his career. you can throw out useless stats all you want, but if the other team has the ball the last possession of the game, your confidence you're going to get the stop you need will be very low. it's who he is and he's not going to change. he brings a lot of good, but he also has some pretty big flaws.

he problem with posting those games as examples is that we know how to fricking read.

you don't find it odd at all that all those games were lost in the final minutes of the game. explain to me why he was able to stop those teams the entire game but choked his dick off at the end? is it just some huge statistical anomaly or coincidence?

Examples:
2010 Arkansas
Arkansas scores an 80 yard TD ON THE LAST PLAY OF THE FIRST HALF !! Are you MF KIDDING ME ?????
2012 Alabama
LSU had held Bama to 40 yards total offense and 1 first down the ENTIRE SECOND HALF. But when Bama gets the ball with under two minutes to go? Well, you know. And I don't believe Mettenberger was on the field at that time.
2012 Clemson
Clemson had a FOURTH AND SIXTEEN from deep in their own territory.............and they give up a 16 1/4 yards.......and Clemson drives right down the field.
2013 Ole Miss
Once again, Ole Miss scores a TD in crunch time
2014 Alabama
And, yet AGAAAAAAAAAAAAIN, Chavis shits the bed with under a minute left. After holding Alabama to 0 first downs and 20 yards total offense in the second half, when Alabama gets the ball with under a minute left, remind me what happens AGAAAAAAAAAAIN ????
2014 Notre Dame
What did Chavis do THAT game, sit there with his thumb up his arse ??????????????????

One of the best QB duels I've ever seen in the SEC. Murray and Mettenberger were both on fire that day.

LSU has lost 2 games in each of the past 3 seasons simply due to losing a lead or tie with under 2 minutes to play in the game:

2014
Alabama
Notre Dame

2013
Georgia
Ole Miss

2012
Alabama
Clemson

100% the offense's fault though
