I saw Bo Nix is the starter. That should be interesting.

My remarks were not meant to be trolls against Auburn, but honest opinions. And like so many other opinions on here could be right, or could be wrong. No harm was intended.

Hope they play well this year and mesh. We could use a running game to keep the pressure off the young QB's

There is the key. If Nix (Or Gatewood) is given time in the pocket it could spell great things for Auburn. if they are rushed and forced to make fast decisions... the early half of the year could be rough. Then when that Oline graduates after this year it could get tougher. Two years of being on the run could hurt the QBs development.

Hey...if the OLine is solid, then the young QB could be really, really good and settled in.

I would downright pick Auburn if the qb situation was better.

Oregon has pass rushers for days. The secondary is ball hawking.

Perhaps Nix is Fromm. That’s pretty hopeful though.

That's a bold statement. I hope they have run stoppers.

QB is up in the air, could that be a bad thing? QB situation was an unknown quantity in 2010 and 2013 too. Defense looks solid even having to reload the Lb corps. Don't pin your hopes on a shitty OL cause it's the same unit, I think they will show out barring injury. If you survive the Gators, Mizzou and Cackalacky, we'll see you at the end of your journey. Honestly, I am really confident in the defense. That side of the ball has the better staff.

Also, the three man front is returning 8 players that played and DJ Johnson who sat out due to transfer from Miami.

I think PFF grades Faoliu and Baker as top 3 DE combo in run support. Scott is definitely stout at NT.

Honestly? If I were an Auburn fan, I would be more concerned with the OLine. Their QB's are very talented. Since they are young, they will probably need a little more time in the pocket....but if they get the time they will be very good.

ix is good. I mean, when it is all said and done he will be very good.

More often than not, uber talented true freshmen QBs struggle their first year. Fromm is an exception.

So what about Hurts, Tua, Lawrence, etc.? Seems like it’s pretty common lately

This si true. And, even with Fromm the coaching staff protected Fromm for a good portion of the year. We ran more than passed and did fairly quick easy throws. From just has a knack for looking at a defense and seeing what type of coverage they are in and who will be open.

But, yes, you are correct. most talented freshmen QB's struggle.

I've been burned by Gus and his mickey mouse offense far too many times so I'm already a full tilt melt until we manage to look somewhat coherent on offense, this is my prediction:

To be fair, that DE was drafted in the first round.

I think the players around them helped a lot and Lawrence was a near perfect recruit. Nix is very good and could have a great season. I just wouldn’t bet on it.

I said this earlier but if we are going to have any shot at winning in Dallas, we're going to have to run the shite out of the ball. Asking either freshman QB to win it through the air is too much in game one on the road. But Gus is a threat to pull some stupid shite so who knows what he'll do with the QB's

Honestly, I keep going back and forth on this game. I am just not over confident in either team.

Oregon has the tools to stifle the offense. OLB is easily the most talented spot. These are the guys that have rotated in fall:

Hybrid spot
Bryson Young 6'5" 248 .9065 247 composite
Kayvon Thibodeaux 6'5" 252 .9987 247 composite
DJ Johnson 6'5" 272" .9648 247 composite
Mase Funa 6'2" 260 .9681 247 composite

Traditional OLB
Lamar Winston 6'2" 223 .9058 247 composite
Adrian Jackson 6'2" 232 .9313 247 composite

This is probably par for the course at the upper tier SEC schools but that's my point. You add in some senior DL that developed a good pass rush set by the end of last year and ILBs that ran 4.1ish shuttles at the Opening and you have a good recipe for a pass rush.

Cristobol is a hard nosed guy and I expect the ducks to be much more physical than they were when we last met. I know we will ne physical on the LOS as well.

I'm looking at our LB corps. They are an untested and unheralded group but more athletic and faster than the group of starters that graduated, and my hunch is Travis Williams will have them playing at a very high level.

Should be fun.

Experienced OL, a lot like 2010 when we had experience across the line. Depth is a question.

RB should be good and could be great if OL stays healthy and gels. QB can run the option and air it out when needed.

QB?
WR should have some excellent ones. Not sure about depth based on some dropping issues.

Elite defense.

#70 Calvin Ashley

Had both hands on the guys jersey and still got schooled.

Hard to believe that guy was once the #2 ranked prospect in the US.
