You’re missing the point. Last try:
Your examples of ignoring rules included escaping slavery or religious persecution, both of which risked death if caught. Dire circumstances with huge reward but dire risk if you got caught. Risk commensurate with reward. In this case, she risked going to the Olympics and a gold medal for what…getting high? The risk FAR OUTWEIGHED the reward!!! That is the poor judgement i am referring to.
I am showing more extreme versions to highlight the fallacy and inconsistency in the logic.
So you think the circumstances are what matters?
Isn't that kind of like saying it's ok for someone to frick you in the arse as long as it's only a lubed tip?
That doesn't really fly with me, and I'm sure it doesn't fly with anyone else either. If something is wrong, then it's wrong and you say so, then you fix it. The degree to which it is wrong isn't really what matters.
Btw, ultimately it's the US that is paying the consequences of this bad rule. She doesn't get to compete, but she was competing for the US and that means she's going to be replaced by someone who likely won't do as well - or they would have been there already.

I think sitting ar a red light when I’m the only car on the road is dumb and sometimes I will run the light. But if I get caught, I know it’s my fault and not the policeman who writes me a ticket.

Smoking weed isnt a very “poor” decision health wise tho. What she did was MUCH safer and better for her than alcohol. That’s why it’s so frustrating and that’s why athletes are attracted to it. Weed wont hinder her abilities long term like alcohol will
Me personally I’ve pretty much stopped drinking and only smoke weed and overall so much more productive. Not that I ever drank to excess outside of college and a few years after.
Much more relaxing after a day of work to smoke a little than drink and I can still get shite done.

And I voted for you!
Rules are rules.
Bad rule, but it is the rule.
A woman smokes weed and is eliminated from the Olympics.
A guy can take whatever they take and can complete against women in the Olympics.
The world we live in today?

Maybe this highlights the need for the rule to be changed.

This is actually along the lines of what they ask you first week in ethics class. The scenario they use is, if your driving with your boss and he 1) speeds and runs a red light, or 2) he lights up a joint in the car with you, do you report a) report both instances the law was broken, and why b) do you report one and not the other and why, as both times a law was broken or c) you don’t care and why.
I think I answered C bc I could care less as long as he didn’t kill, rape, hurt, drive drunk, etc, you would be surprised how many people picked B, over half the class, so it’s not surprising that’s the consensus here.
Note: there was no real right or wrong answer, you just had to defend your decision for the assignment and in front of the class, kinda practice defending your case I guess
On this topic, it looks like the number of politicians and athletes sticking up for her has grown, I hope they do update the rule, if they don’t, who cares I guess, this isn’t the only questionable rule in the Olympics, but the US obviously has influence in sparking changes

I would want to answer probably C, but not because I don't care. I don't care if he does those things by himself in the car but don't go driving like an idiot or lighting up a joint with me in the car. I don't want to ride with an idiot driver and I don't want to breathe second hand smoke. However, I probably need my job so I would probably just STFU.

Lmao it’s not that easy to just say a law was broken must tell, they kind of want you to accept there is a gray area, not all black and white, those people that believe ethics is black and white would technically pick A in theory I guess bc they should report both cases, or else they aren’t practicing what they preach

There is no gray area. People only create gray area to make their lives easier. Including me.

I said "governmental stigma" meaning that the idea that marijuana is a dangerous drug that should be prohibited is an idea that has been perpetuated by government for nearly a hundred years. And its idiotic.

I'm interested in laws being reasonable, and sensible, and I'd rather not live in a nanny-state. You clearly do.

Cool, so go ahead and endeavor to have the laws/rules/regulations adjusted to match what you deem to be fair. In the meantime, you're actually not permitted to simply ignore said stipulations you consider unjust.

Running redlights is illegal because you can potentially kill someone or seriously injure someone if you do it. Its a public safety measure. Sure, there plenty of moments where you can safely run a redlight because no one is coming, and in some states, that is actually is perfectly legal.
Weed being illegal isn't a matter of public safety at all. Its by and large harmless for adults to partake in(responsibly) and in many cases, it improves peoples quality of life.
So how is that an "amazing comparison?" Literally the only similarities those two things have is that they are both illegal.

Calling pot an enhancing drug is ridiculous. Sha'Carri Richardson is a great athlete. Pot will be completely legal in a few years in the US. maybe then this stupidity will end.

What if your children have epilepsy and the only thing saving them is pot. You might rethink your view real quick. If you don't you'll end up in bankruptcy from all the ER visits and ambulance rides.
You have a weak mind. I suggest you work it out some. Think bigger and better.
