Very good show, but nothing beats Andy Griffith IMHO.

Did you know Donna Douglas who played Elly May on the Beverly Hillbillies was from Zachary, Louisiana? I think (if not mistaking) she moved back to Louisiana after retirement.
She did. I lived in Baton Rouge as an adult, and played some Commercial league Softball against her grandson. She was at the games from time to time. Very friendly lady.

He toured the pot fields and thought it was a good fit for him.

Yes, she used to babysit my mother and they remained lifelong friends.

jesus I'm young
tried 3 shows mentioned in this thread and it wasn't my humor.
Even Seinfeld to an extent was a little dated.
Gimme Always Sunny.

Sanford and Son

Like any show, some episodes are better than others. Sanford and Son hit its stride in Seasons 2 and 3. Seasons 5 and 6 started to slip because of poor writing. In any case, some of their episodes produced arguably the funniest scenes in the history of television: the courtroom scene in "Fred Sanford, Legal Eagle", Aunt Esther confronting Big Money Grip in "Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe", the Mexican restaurant scene in "Pops and Pals". Redd Foxx had no acting experience prior to Sanford and Son, but he pulled it off every time. Even Norman Lear said that Redd was a great actor and didn't get the credit he deserved.

Culp ran for Congress in the 1980's. Ole Jed ran commercials for her Republican opponent calling her too liberal. She lost bigly.

My favorite line Fred ever spoke was to Aunt Esther when he said "You so ugly they could stick your face in some dough and make gorrilla cookies."
Lmao!

The greatest episode ever in the history of TV would have been a combo episode...Lucy, Ricky, Fred, and Ethyl driving through Mayberry on their way to California and getting stopped for speeding by Barney.
