Did you buy Athlon's magazine this year? And what's your statewide preseason football mag?

I haven't bought Athlons in 3 or 4 years, but I'm not knocking it. It's a celebration of Ye Old incoming college football season, so it's a nice little juicer. Decent recruiting rankings and pretty cheerleader pics.
In Arkansas, we have the statewide "Hootens" magazine patterned after the old "Arkansas Football by Dave Campbell" (of Texas Football Dave Campbell fame), and people on message boards love to talk trash about Hootens. I like Hootens. College football coverage and extensive high school coverage, giving kids a moment in the sun to see their name or pics and/or print.
I'm plugging some Bermuda grass as usual by this time of year, and I'm excited it's got most of July and all of August/Sept to run.
My yard gets that Christmas brown carpet of Bermuda grass my grandma's house used to have years ago. It's a thing of beauty. And it still makes me think about football, along with family.

I miss the late summer days of running from the car straight to the magazine rack at winn-dixie and sitting my 10 yr old arse in the middle of the aisle and reading Lindys and Athlons. I had usually already purchased the pro and college Street and Smith's the day they hit the rack.

I buy a magazine every summer, usually either Athlons or Lindy's, but usually Athlons.
Not because I need it to learn what is in there, all the info in those magazines and much more is available for free on the internet, but it takes me back to when I was a kid, when my dad would buy me one of those magazines before we went on our beach trip every summer. I guess I just pay for the nostalgia.

I've been buying Lindsey's SEC magazine with a Bama player on the cover every year since 08.
I really believe me buying that magazine has been the key to Alabama's success the last 13 years.
