Most LSU fans will grumble but I've seen it time and time again. If they don't win the series against the Bullies and win the SEC Tourny then we don't deserve our Top 5 ranking.

If we lose another series maybe but winning the tournament? There are like 4 SEC teams in the top 5. Should 3 of them drop out if they don’t win the tournament?

huh? This is maybe the worst of the takes. We beat your arse in game one and barely used our bullpen. Game 2 we threw 4 guys, you guys threw 5 arms.
You can blame the crew, the umpires, the SEC, but logically it makes no sense for SC to not want to play that third game. Losing to the #1 doesnt hurt your resume at all, winning would have boosted it. Your sunday pitching has been rough all SEC season so we would have felt confident that we would score runs.
I still think the two teams decided to not play due to conditions in the outfield and the concerns of injuries. You guys are clearly a good team, and at that point so were we. Those games are so valuable to both teams.

Crazy to think with all that talent offensively could be wasted because if pitching depth. Skenes is as good as they come, so no worry there. I think if LSU gets the overall #1 they will be fine in the Regionals. But the Super Regionals 3 game series could be bad with Skenes possibly only pitching 1 time.

How did Ole Miss and MSU win the College World Series? Luck is also needed to win it all. Go ask Arkansas fans how they were one out away to winning the College World Series 3 years ago go for them.

They had pitching depth. 5 ucl injuries & losing 3 frontline arms.

Yeah. I guess that’s the “that’s baseball” thing. There’s a few maybe more that have the potential to step up and at least be serviceable but at present are pretty inconsistent. Maybe the big stage will be enough to spur it on.

Hopefully we have not peaked. The injuries are tough but that can also be when you find the next big stars.
I hope we look back on it and say that we reached a peak but to get to the bigger peak we needed to go down this one first.
