I’ll go with the the opinion of reigning 2023 AP Coach of the Year, Home Depot Coach of the Year, Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year, Walter Camp Coach of the Year and the Sporting News Coach of the Year on who’s better to run his offense

Did DeBoer actually build any of his programs?

Whether we as fans agree or not with whom is chosen qb1, he is the head coach. It is our program to follow, but it is his to run.

I would have liked Sayin to stay through the spring and at least give the staff an opportunity, but wish him well until he plays against Alabama. It isn’t very likely a new coach and coordinator will simply go status quo with the qb position. Sayin would’ve had a considerable opportunity to start whoever committed via the portal.

Roll Tide.

Saban recruited a lot of players - many “can’t miss” 5 stars - that never played or got washed out. Recruiting is an inexact science. We’ll never know what Sayin could have done or not done at Alabama. He’s one player. There are still four QBs in the room. Saban is not the coach anymore. Moving on down the road…

He’s a good player. And the new coach is running them off in droves and we can’t keep up.

If this Mack kid is so other worldly….and according to the Bama board would have been higher ranked than even Sayin was this year….why did DeBoer and Grubbs bring in Will Rogers.

It wasn’t to ride the pine.

Maybe Souix Falls but his other HC gigs he was only there two years each.

It doesn’t stop them from saying he’s built multiple programs, nor does it stop them from regurgitating the Courtney Morgan facade that he built the Michigan championship roster when he was there ONE year.

Seeing plenty of internet rumors about this.

Maybe. Maybe not. But to be fair, Mack was pretty highly rated himself, and he was in practice with DeBoer in the fall, so at the very least, the kid knows the offense and I assume he must have looked pretty good for him to allow him to transfer.

For 2024, I would think this helps Alabama on the football field. Off the football field, well that's an entirely different story.. but he better figure out a way to stop the bleeding..

For 2025 & Beyond.. Sayin looks pretty damn good to me, so we shall see what happens.

Yes, he and his staff never liked Sayin, never offered him prior to Bama. Brought in a kid they liked

I bet teams are tripping over themselves to sign Sayin now that he's hit the portal.
Bidding war incoming.

Well, he skipped his Sr year of high school. Perhaps they wanted him to sit a year to adjust.
Not everybody can hit the ground running and dominate like Peyton Thorne.
