Kind of like when LSU beat Ole Miss last year.

Dak needed that 2014 game in Tuscaloosa. Beating Auburn was cool when they were #1 but that team unraveled.

2014 kind of sucked for the SEC overall.

Midway through the West looked like you could make a better football team from its all stars than the rest of college football.

Ended in disappointment though as it produced our weakest champion since Georgia 2005.

We are historic rivals, yo.

We compete at more than just jello shots purchasing.

Uhh, easy for you to say on that side of the conference letting Mizzou win the division.

West was brutal at usual. All 7 teams finished with a winning record.

Bama won it
State won 10
Rebs won 9
A&M, Auburn, and LSU all won 8
Arkansas won 7

Not to defend Dak or state but from what I remember he had an average receiving core and an ok offensive line and he carried that team. They lost two SEC games that year so I think it's safe to say if they only lost 2 he won some meaningful games. He's been overrated like most cowboys cause of the team he plays for but he was a beast in college.

I didn't say a thing about the East. It was weak. But the West ended up being weak too compared to what was initially thought.

MSU lost to Tech. A decent Tech team, but any elite team destroys them.

All of these teams were good, none were elite. Bama won the conference, but most Bama fans would say that's Saban's worst team not counting his first year with the possible exception being last year.

UGA beat the shite out of both West teams they played.

They had a center who stomped on people, Bear Wilson (RIP), and Fred Ross. Not to mention a tackle and TE that were eventually drafted. I wouldn’t say they were without talent on that side of the ball.

You beat arkansas by 13. I’ll give you that you whooped Auburn.

I agree, none were elite.

But how can you not say 2010 or 2013 Bama was worse than 2014?

Got his arse beat in the Orange Bowl and was totally outplayed by this guy.

DC left for Florida and we had no defensive preparation for triple option. TCU killed Ole Miss in the Chic F La so it was pick your poison. I preferred Ga Tech over TCU but I knew either one would kick our teeth in.

That game was pretty frickin big for State and Dak.

On top of getting our shite pushed in, they took this fricking GigaPixel thing during a TV break between 1st and 2nd Quarter just before State Scored again.

Gixapixel image during LSU vs State 2014

I was so frickin mad in this picture. Everyone in Tiger Stadium looked like this.

Speaking of 8-5, that’s the best record of an SEC team Dak beat. Their three top ten wins in 2014 were all against teams who finished 8-5.

Thing is state and ole Miss were both really good that year. So logic dictates when we beat those teams along with to get to 9-10 wins then they must have 4-5 losses. Someone has to take our place as the 7-5 team if it’s not to be us

I believe they got ranked 1st for the weekend of that game, lost, and then slid

We were ranked 1st for 5 weeks. Off week and beat Kentucky, Arkansas and UT martin before losing 25-20 at Bama. Slid to 4th in playoff rankings and beat Vandy handily and stayed at 4th then shite the bed against OM.

Had we beaten OM we go to playoffs as 4 seed

Naming the 4 teams in the first ever CFP rankings will be a trivia answer gotten wrong for years to come

Closed out the "We Believe" season losing to Alabama, Ole Miss and Orange Bowl (Ga Tech)

The we believe season was 2012 where we started 7-0 and finished 8-5 getting throttled by 4 teams at the end of season

Dak played in four games that were late season meaningful games to get to Atlanta and went 0-4. Two chances to get to the playoff and he was 0-2. One NY6 game and he was 0-1. An argument can be made that while he was the primary reason State had a good run in the mid 2010s, he did not win the meaningful game.

Sounds like Cowboys post seasons under him

The reason we did so poorly against OM and Ga Tech we found out later was because Geoff Collins our DC had already accepted another job and basically didn’t prepare the defense those 2 games. Piece of fricking shite ruined our dream season and I still hate him for it

You don't have to convince me what a piece of shite Geoff Collins is. He ruined your dream season but be glad he didn't destroy your entire program like he did ours.
