Dak threw three picks in that game, all of which came deep in Bama territory. Not sure you can blame it all on Mullen.
Dak was at fault too, but if you rewatch that game, State’s play calling in the fourth quarter was totally bizarre. They got the ball back down 12 with 5 or 6 minutes left and took their dear sweet time, ran the ball several times, didn’t go no huddle, didn’t use timeouts efficiently. They scored a TD but by the time it happened they had burned all their timeouts on offense and there was like 20 seconds left. Failed onside kick and State loses by 5.

Lower elite? Brother, either you’re elite or you’re not Did you mean to say very good? Because that’s what he is. No doubt about that. But he isn’t elite by any stretch. You know who the elite QBs are, and he isn’t one of ‘em. Kind of like Eli was then?
There is no need to get salty or bring up irrelevant players just because Dak isn’t elite.
No one in this thread mentioned Eli before you did, much less claimed he was elite. That’s a pretty typical lil’ bro response.

Say what you want about how LSU, A&M, and Auburn finished 2014, but at the time those were all very big games. State hadn’t beaten LSU in 15 years and hadn’t won it Baton Rouge in 23 years, and most of those games were absolute massacres. It was a huge win for State. A&M was #6 vs. #12 in the polls, Auburn was #2 vs. #3 with College Gameday in town for the first time ever. He also played really well in a win in Fayetteville in 2015, which has become one of the forgotten great SEC games of the last decade. If you want to knock him for not beating Bama, that’s fine. State had a chance in the ‘14 game and he played his worst game of the year, so it’s fair to knock him for that one. ‘15 was just a total mismatch though, not really his fault. He was also 0-2 in Egg Bowls as a starter but very much picked up the win in relief in the ‘13 game. State won 19 games in a two year stretch with Dak, the only time they’ve ever done that. He may not rise to the status of some other SEC greats but he was unquestionably awesome at State.
No doubt. It doesn’t matter how it ends up, if you win 9 or 10 games in a season it’s a big deal in Starkville, especially if you beat LSU and/or Auburn.

No, lil' bro is the dipshit Rebel who started the thread in the first place, and then all the others that creamed themselves to get in here.
Sorry responded to wrong thread
Meant to respond to this:

I love your little snide slick shots. 9 wins with victories over LSU, Auburn, and State would probably garner a banner in Oxford.

They don't even have to actually win anything to throw up banners

You really got us on that one.
Know what you'll always have to live with? The best football team in your school's putrid football history lost to Bo Wallace, who was basically hobbling the entire game, and an Ole Miss receiving corps decimated with injuries. All you had to do was beat Bo Wallace to make the inaugural college football playoff and you couldn't.
How on topic is that? In the most meaningful game of his college career, Dak Prescott couldn't beat Bo Wallace.
If you read my responses in this thread, I've acknowledged over-and-over again Dak won meaningful games. I've also acknowledged those "top ten wins" in 2014 weren't actually over top ten teams. Nevertheless, State won them and looked good doing so. It's not like State had any control over where LSU and A&M were ranked when they played them. Finally, I've acknowledged anytime Mississippi State wins 9 - 10 games in a season and/or beats LSU in Tiger Stadium or Auburn whatsoever, it's a big deal. All three of those can be true at the same time and, frankly, they are true. Ole Miss and Eli Manning have nothing to do with these undisputed facts.
