LSU should have been told about this. We could have spent the last couple weeks giving more 1st team reps to Spears.
It's just bullshite. It's ratty as frick on Willie Fritz and UH, and it's pussy as frick on Dabo and Clemson.
Probably cost UH millions after we canceled the 2027 game, so they can suck one.
Frtiz knows full well it kinda sucks to prepare all camp for a guy to be that starter. Would have been nice to know earlier.

What would happen if the NCAA vacated a championship?
What would the NCAA be scared of?
I feel like I am repeating myself here.
A championship is the culmination of an entire season. 800 plus games. Vacating the championship basically shits on the entire season for all players and fans. Do you think they want to come out and tell the world "Sorry guys... the culmination of everyone's games. Well we really fricked it up and it doesn't count and the best we can do is say Washington won the championship even though everybody saw them lose the game."
Massive black eye for the sport. They should have but they are scared of the fallout for vacating a championship than they are of not vacating it.
If you don't agree, cool. But the NCAA has a very recent history of vacating wins for ineligible players. An objective fact.
Later.

Since you have details.
Let me ask this..
Based on NCAA rules; if it had not been found out and he played, in eligible for the 1st half. It appears not only would they ( NCAA ) have forfeited the game, but he would have then had to miss the next 2 half’s of football and the offending Head Coach would receive double the suspension. It’s pretty clear in the rules if eligibility. That would have sucked to it come out after the game.

If yall played him knowing he was ineligible for a half it would have been worse.
Ejection followed him. This isn’t a new or surprising situation. If it surprises LSU staff then they shouldn’t not be on staff.

It should bot be up to the former school to inform new school it should be up to NCAA to inform player.
I don’t disagree in theory but here it was a Big12 decision, communicated to a Big12 school, Houston. It doesn’t appear the NCAA was even involved until it was raised to them recently to review.

Fritz *did* know earlier. 9 months earlier.

So basically, if you make the fallout bad enough the NCAA will cave.
Cool, so you agree with me. LSU should have played Haulcy and dared the NCAA to do something.

We'll do whatever we want bitch.
Also, learn to count. 7 or 8 of the starters were returning players.

Yall need to have someone ask Dabo about it in the presser.

So, somebody ejected from the game should NOT be held responsible simply because he changes schools? Seems like something like that would NOT be ignored as long as you’re still a college athlete
I don’t disagree but this is another example of how bad the NCAA is.
If a player is suspended, no one should be left to guess about it. The governing g body of the sport should make a formal announcement so it is t left up to interpretation and a team doesn’t find out 2 days before a game.

You'ld figure a player on your roster being EJECTED from a game would be something NOT to ignore.

I agree...(mostly) nobody knows where things fell through the cracks.
But, as I also posted in this thread:
1 - Dabo gave y'all a heads up BEFORE the game about this situation. Should he have kept quiet until after the game?
2 - LSU should be checking their roster for possible eligibility issues before each game.
