UGA first used it’s new LED light show 9/21/2019 on a prime time game vs ND.
Alabama did so 10/19/2019 vs UT.

Both systems were installed during the Summer of 2019.

No, they didn't steal their logo from the Braves.

FWIW, they are not identical.

The difference between the two logos is that uat's logo is an "A" with a mullet.

A Packers team equipment manager under legendary coach Vince Lombardi came up with the team's helmet logo in 1961. He designed the shape of the logo to represent a football and the G to mean Green Bay. A couple years later in Athens, Georgia, Vince Dooley was redesigning the team's uniforms, including changing the helmets from silver to red, according to the school. His idea was to have a black G on a white background on the helmet.

While the Georgia's G dimensions and colors were different, the university still sought approval from Green Bay to use the logo. The Packers granted it. A year later, Grambling State also designed a G logo for its helmet, and the Packers also granted the school permission.

1961 Green Bay

1962 Georgia

1964 Georgia

It was clear BAMA used their lights after GA.

You can go back and watch the home games and see it.

You are correct, it was about a month difference too.

That 1961 Green Bay "G" is NOT the same as the 1964 Georgia "G" that UGA trademarked.

Green Bay liked Georgia's "G" better and asked UGA for permission to use it and it was granted. UGA does not charge GB a fee to use it, either. Grambling uses our "G" by permission from UGA, as well.

Please notice the differences: GB's a bit more rounded/squared....UGA's more elongated than GB's.

Green Bay in 1961........................................Georgia 1964-Present

UTerus upsets Bama....oh, great. The world will be regaled with the eponymous sound of, "The Uterus is upon you...".

Somehow, the "Rammer Jammer" chant by Bama fans will be most appropriate in Texas' case after they ground you good. :)

Does it hurt being of your age, in your professional field, and still missing the mark so often on a basic message board?

No but Georgia stole the Green Bay “G” …and the “Dawg Walk” from Auburn (along with a number of other schools) ….and your fight song, aka the Battle Hymn of the Republic

And like our great Republic itself, we took what was yours and ennobled it for the better.

You may call it cultural appropriation, if you’re a liberal girly man. I call it winning.
