TCU destroying Ole Miss is what made me think of it.

Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Tennessee are Bama's opponents that won their bowl games, I believe. We are talking about teams with a combined record of 22-17 there and they were lower level bowls.

The only team that "deserved" to be in was Florida St. As a Power 5 team, it doesn't matter how bad you look if you are undefeated. The other 3, along with Baylor and TCU all had cases to be in.

Personally, TCU was my choice as best team and deserved to be in. Best loss of the 5 1-loss teams. Co-conference champs. I would not have put Ohio State in, but they certainly proved they belonged. I see the OP's point though, Alabama had weaknesses all year. Won some games they could and should have lost.

Oregon had a solid case since they took injuries into account. Which I guess you could for Ohio State as well. Just need to go to 6 or 8 teams, P5 conf champs plus wild card.

The assumption that every possible question about a team is considered an attack and that any question whatsoever about the superiority of Alabama in particular and the SEC in general is considered to be out of bounds or stupid is exactly what will be the downfall of this conference.

We talk about this kind of stuff after the BCS EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. It is what led to the 4 team playoff. I just applied it to the semifinal round only because the SEC collapsed in the bowl games - something that has become a national story.

When the Big 12 adds 2 more teams and is once again "The Big 12," and has a proper Conference Championship Game then they will get a fair shot at the Playoff. Until then there should not even be a debate.

The Big 12 should add The University of Houston and maybe a team like Northern Illinois. I think both teams would be good additions to their conference.

I NEVER thought that Alabama did not deserve to be in before the other night. Of course they did! And, the only thing that made me think of this was the way that the SEC West fell apart - NOT because Alabama lost to Ohio State.

OF COURSE Alabama deserved to be there before the bowl games. I never thought otherwise. And, Alabama losing to Ohio State had NOTHING to do with what made me think about this.

It was ALL prompted by the miserable showing of the SEC West and TCU's destruction of Ole Miss. But, all that you can see is "Alabama" and you fear that I am taking a shot at your team. How does Alabama control what the other teams do?

TCU's one loss was to Baylor. Alabama's loss was to Ole Miss - the team that TCU made look like a junior high team. That is why.
