Does it honestly matter if a kid lives on one particular side of an imaginary line? He gets top talent from around the South. It's not like UGA has some divine right to every kid in GA.

No school (except maybe Bama, but they don't count for arguments' sake) goes into Louisiana and steals kids from LSU. Yet that happens to UGA all the time.

UGA has to recruit from NC and Florida because they can't lock down in-state talent.

Hell, even awful South Carolina has locked down their borders for the most part, and they have nowhere near the brand recognition that UGA has.

That was my point. To many top recruots get away that they are after. Just this Ndemniech or how ever you spell it, plus R Foster (which might be a good thing) who played all but his senior year there. Kamara and ect

Louisiana is bordered by Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi. The closest school that is even a threat to LSU's recruiting is two states away (Bama, for the record).
Meanwhile, GA is:
1.) a transient state.
2.) Bordered by all the teams I mentioned

It is impossible to lock down. Period.

Well, no shite. But then I'm ok cherry picking the likes of Keith marshall, Todd Gurley, John Theus, Aaron Murray, Orson Charles, AJ Green, Tramel Terry, Ramik Wilson, SOny Michel, etc. Different strokes

CJ Byrd
Tramel Terry

I'll think of a few more, just give me a minute.

Uhh, yeah. Because we obviously have no talent here in SC.

I meant in terms of getting the best player in South Carolina. Locking down their state. SC has managed to do that 4 out of the past 5 seasons. That's with a nationally prominent program in the same state.

Can UGA say the same thing about the state of Georgia?

Granted, Georgia does grab some recruits out of SC(Green, Terry), but SC grabs some from Georgia too(BAW, Kelcy Griffin, Chaz Elder).

USC state of Georgia recruits, even if they turn out great, are almost always further down the UGA offer chart. Just how it is.

To be honest with you, I think UGA is happy to go after the top instate recruits, but they simply don't care if they see they have a chance on a guy higher on their board that is from out of state. And instate guys just don't have the same loyalty that they do in other states which would lead them to take a late offer. Such is life. Dannell Ellerbe was another good player out of S. Carolina I believe.

Dan Marino wasn't that great. He never won a Super Bowl.

Trent Dilfer, now there's an elite QB.

This is what I've been saying for years. Sadly your right Richt pretty much is coach for life. Only way he gets fired is if we have 3 straight losing seasons which is unlikely since we schedule just enough creampuffs to get above .500 most years. Or Richt gets found in bed with a dead woman or a live boy.

Sorry, I didn't know that an SEC title and sugar bowl victory was considered "jack shite"

At one point Richt got the SC player of the year like 3 out of 4 years. Prince Miller, CJ Byrd, AJ Green, maybe some others.

When you have as good a teams as we had during his time at QB and have as good a QB as he was in college for us anything less than a national title during at least 1 of the years the QB is still at Georgia is wasted.

When you have easy schedules like we had during his time at QB and have as good a QB as he was in college for us anything less than a national title during at least 1 of the years the QB is still at Georgia is wasted.

Holy frick. Please look at our schedule from 2002, the year we went 13-1 under Greene and tell me that was an easy schedule.

You're so fricking dumb it's almost pointless to respond to.

6 pages of comments and only 2 posters actually know what really happened on the play... #3 didn't fire out to block Mosley...he waited for him to come to him, thus he allowed just enough penetration to tip the ball...QB's throw in lanes; they don't try to throw over linemen...watching Met get balls batted down this past year should be proof of this...people have been writing off Murray for years, and for years he has proven them wrong...he's extremely competitive, he prepares like no other, he'll outwork all others, and if he doesn't make it in the NFL, well it's not because he believes he anything special, he'll fight for the position...Mel Kiper don't know jack when with his Murray comments...if someone needs a QB next year, Murray will be the first off the board, or teams will live to regret it down the line
