Many LSU fans wanted Dooley to replace Miles in 2009.

The Hat keeps on winning and Dooley looking for employment

Thought you vols said he was a dick?

Doesn't seem like it from the ESPN article, theres a a player talking about how Dooley helped him through his mothers death, was one of the most influential people in his life etc.

I always liked DD and thought he would turn it around but after watching last nights game that team just isn't well coached. That's not a bad football team they have play makers on offense and defense.

I love these posts.

"I always thought Dooley was a good coach until I actually watched a game and realized that it's actually blatantly obvious that he's an atrocious coach."

Yea buddy, we already knew.

You're obviously trolling. To substantively respond to such ridiculous posts would be troll feeding. I'm not that altruistic.

Got to hand it to the Vols for taking action. I have no trust that the incompetent administration at Auburn will do the same.

Thank goodness!
But if Dooley did do one thing that helped the program he did provide more stability. After the Kiffin debacle the program was in shambles. But good bye and good luck in the future.

Jeez, they won't even let him pick up the cupcake? That's pretty damn harsh. Now I hope KY lays a half hundred on them.

Big Chief headed home so who does LSU get for a DC?

No Way, Chief wants to coach and not deal with the politics of being a HC.

the Dooley error is over, UT will go for a homerun with everything they have, they understand that this is a last opportunity to be relevant or die.

Gruden is the only serious candidate right now.

GO VOLS!

I hope you are kidding. He was their 6th choice when he was picked. Tennessee was in a huge hurry to select a head coach after Lane Kiffin bolted so the Vols wanted a warm body to keep their recruiting class intact. Well, they got a warm body and not much else!

Dooley made UT stable in the same sense that the Titanic is stable right now.

He inherited a mess and it was downhill from there, no reason to dislike the man as a person. It just didnt work out. UT's new HC will have a large mountain to climb in recruiting, cleaning out the riff raff and the ones who think they are entitled...going to be tough sledding.

I have to beleive that the AD already has an agreement in pencil for a new coach and there might be a mere function of pretending to do interviews...but they should have already made their decision. It cant be someone with pro football duties or UT will suffer in the already lacking recruiting game....the pros play a lot longer than college and UT needs some one who can knock on doors immediately. Ron Zook is available and he is a helluva recruiter..or used to be before he lost his voice.
