No one's grades were just released today. There is no chance this has to do with academics.

Yep. Even Brian Kelly isn't strong enough of a coach to discipline the Jimbo character out of a promising athlete.

Keep stroking, that jar is almost full.

Not meant as a troll but wondering....does anybody know if LSU gave him some NIL to induce him to go to LSU?

McGlothern was late to too many meetings.

Agreed, but that was more of an instance where the previous coaching staff had never held him accountable so he struggled with the sudden change.

He needed a fresh start.

There wasn't much risk in giving him a chance, LSU still brought in other CBs and signed CBs for competition. Not like he was handed a starting spot. It hurts the depth and upside for sure if he ends up not working out.

Wasn't it during fall camp 2 years ago when we found out Emery wasn't available due to academics?

Here is one, one of the big problems with NIL. Kids end up not going where they want to but where is the best money. Some can deal with it and play and become great while some just never feel comfortable. Jimbo bought a great class last year but they all went for the wrong reason. Now, it doesn't sound like he wants to be at LSU. Sounds like he might be a bit of a head case too.

Not that I have seen publicized, but who knows.

No idea.

It sounds like a lot of his extended family had contacted Kelly and asked him to let Harris in.

He may have even been kicked out of A&M academically before he entered the portal.

It doesn't matter though, he was worth taking a chance on.

It wasn't so much that as it was that A&M just went star chasing in an attempt to build some positive momentum and it backfired, to a certain extent.

The staff didn't do their due diligence on a lot of these kids and some of them were bad apples.

Reading the LSU board is hilarious. Tons of comments about "this isnt A&M's toxic lockerroom culture over here".... uh, yall were the ones who took a transfer in, knowing all his baggage. You absolutely are creating more issues for your lockerroom by bringing in risky players like that.

Insert something about the parable of the splinter in the eye....

Definitely. It worked out well for Florida with Justin Shorter. If they hit it's a great move to make.

Not sure. Looks like Emery was cleared to return from academic suspension on August 4, which could line up with getting grades in from second summer session.

Bad apples that almost every other team in the country wanted too. Did they all not do their due diligence as well?

But all the players Saban buys really want to be at Bama with all there heartses?

A&M kept the large bulk of the highest rated class ever, and the first year separated the wheat from the chaff.

Jimbo has a track history of shitty locker room culture going back to Florida State.

Kelly does not. This is the first whisper of any kind of bad news from an LSU player since he took the job.

It's not whether they ever pan out somewhere else, it's about the fact they won't contribute @ TAMU. 8 TOP 100 signees (3 5*'s) leaving=huge losses. Simply put, difference makers that never hit & depth issues.

No.

I'm talking about when he was declared ineligible for the 2021 season.

Doesn’t matter what kind of track record Kelly has in the past, when you start bringing in kids with character issues, don’t be surprised by what you get. (I’m assuming we are all in agreement he had character issues after the rant exploded over his parking garage driving video).
