I've always felt that the defensive line strength, power, and speed is what really separated the SEC from all other conferences.

At this moment, how would you rank (at least the top half) the defensive lines of the SEC? Consider depth as well. I know the caliber of talent at Alabama and certain players like Myles Garrett.

However, this weekend, I watched some Florida D-lineman absolutely terrorize Kentucky (#44 maybe), I've heard Auburn can rotate 10 deep, etc.

So, how would you rank the SEC defensive lines?

That's because Kentucky's O-line is the best defensive line in the country. They really get after the quarterback and stop the run.

That can be said for quite a few teams.

Arkansas, Auburn, Alabama, LSU all have a big rotation of DL. I can't really speak to aTm or Ole Miss...but I think Ole Miss lost a bit from last season.

We rotate 10 guys on our DL for the first time since joining the SEC. 5 DT's and 5 DE's are rotated.

Settle down. Number one will be determined once the grind of the SEC begins.

Here was our snapcount from the UCLA game with positions in parenthesis. We rotate a lot at DT

DL
Garrett-73 (DE)
Hall-72 (DE)
Keke-45 (DT)
Walker-41 (DT)
Henderson-26 (DT)
Chevis-26 (DT)
Mack-25 (DT)
Cunningham-17 (DE)
Lockhart-9 (DE)
Johnson-7 (DE)

Besides Garrett, Daeshon Hall is probably a 2nd-3rd round talent after this season as a JR. There's a decent drop off in depth at DE though. We don't have an elite talent at DT but all are solid players and we don't drop off much when we rotate out

In years passed this has been the case, but not this year. LSU is pretty thin on the DL this year due to some injuries over the summer.

You'll see. I make no representations about the rest of the defense, although I think they'll end up prett salty, but that d line is mean as frick

We have 5 DTs and 7 DE who play. A couple are banged up right now, but when healthy they all play.

Interestingly enough, Bama isn't extremely deep on the DL. The top 3 or 4 guys are studs, but behind that it's fairly inexperienced. They do have some talented edge guys who aren't technically DL, but almost exclusively rush the passer

Ole Miss goes about 7 deep across their front four. Speaks and Haynes are really good, Benito Jones looks like he will be as well

Well, at DT we aren't as deep as we have been, but we do seem to be able to rotate a lot at DE.

Good starting talent, but a steep drop off afterwards. That, plus an offense that refused to hold onto the ball for more than 2 minutes at a time, killed them against FSU.

We are deep and all the players you named are great but personally DJ Jones might be right there with Haynes as best on our DL. He is a beast on the inside that graded out the highest in the FSU game. Also now that Fadol Brown is getting healthy at SDE our line is a solid 8 deep.

I'd argue that Daylon Mack is on the cusp of being elite, and will be next year without a doubt.

I'm still pissed that LSU couldn't get Ed Oliver to Baton Rouge. He's a one man wrecking crew.

A&M finally has quality depth on the DLine. We've had a perception problem before that A&M doesn't care about defense, but that is false: The coaches definitely understand the need to recruit this area.

Hopefully they are in the top half of the league now. We'll see...

Maybe I am just stuck thinking about last year for you guys.

For Arkansas, we have a lot of quality DL and DE on roster.

Our rotation...10 total this season...

DE(5): Deatrich Wise, Tevin Beanum, JaMichael Winston, Randy Ramsey, Karl Roesler

DT(5): Jeremiah Ledbetter, Taiwan Johnson, Sosa Agim, Austin Capps, Bijohn Jackson

Ed Oliver destroyed OU. Good for him. A&M wanted him as well.

I'd say Daylon Mack has shown flashes but has to prove it consistently if he wants to be considered Elite

Brian Cox, Jr. (94)
Caleb Brantley (57)
Jordan Sherit (17)
Joey Ivie (91)
Keivonnis Davis (95)
Cece Jefferson (96)
Jabari Zuniga (92)
Khairi Clark (54)
Taven Bryan (93)

Can't speak for other teams but we rotate nine guys with minimal dropoff. Davis and Zuniga don't start but they've been two of our better pass rushers this year. Cece doesn't either but he's probably the most talented lineman on the team.
