I'd argue that Daylon Mack is on the cusp of being elite, and will be next year without a doubt.

I'm still pissed that LSU couldn't get Ed Oliver to Baton Rouge. He's a one man wrecking crew.

He needs to get into better shape, that's why he's the lowest on that UCLA snapcount among the DTs. He definitely has the potential to be elite though and he's only a sophomore. Reggie Chevis has been the most pleasant surprise for us.

Oliver is a beast and future top 5 pick. He would be getting significant snaps for any SEC team as a true freshman this year for sure.

Tennessee's rotation:

DE(7) - Derek Barnett, Jonathon Kongbo, Latroy Lewis, Corey Vereen, Kyle Phillips, Darrell Taylor, Austin Smith

DT(5) - Shy Tuttle, Danny O'Brien, Brian Vickers, Khalil McKenzie, Alexis Johnson

There are a few minor injuries, but overall, this is the deepest DL Tennessee has had in a long time.

It seems to be the SEC way to rotate 8-10 guys on the D Line to keep guys fresh.

It was so good to see Tuttle ball out last week in his first game back from the UGA tPOS injury. Him and Vickers played very well at DT, and Vereen had a helluva game at DE too.

Top 3 (all could make a case for the #1 spot): AU/A&M/Bama

From there it gets hard to rank. There are some very good units across the board.

In years passed this has been the case, but not this year. LSU is pretty thin on the DL this year due to some injuries over the summer.

With the injury and suspension issues behind them, it appears the Tigers will now rotate 8 guys. Utilizing a 3-man front most of the time, that should be plenty. Remember that Key and Bower are now considered outside linebackers and are not counted amongst those 8.

8 of the 11 are underclassmen as well. Future looks good there.

Defensive Lines of the SEC

Brian Cox, Jr. (94)
Caleb Brantley (57)
Jordan Sherit (17)
Joey Ivie (91)
Keivonnis Davis (95)
Cece Jefferson (96)
Jabari Zuniga (92)
Khairi Clark (54)
Taven Bryan (93)

Add in 2 true frosh who played last week on the DL:

Jachai Polite 6'2 260
Antonneous Clayton 6'3" 240

Zuniga has been an absolute terror at DE and brings the heat and is a r/s frosh.

Rotating DL is important in Florida heat and our guys are well conditioned
