1 good year, because of the other SEC West teams sucking(except bama) and they think they are a powerhouse program now.

Florida, and it's not even debatable.

I recognize the athleticism. But the "talent" was 9th in the SEC last year in yards allowed and scoring defense.

Chavis is going to help them, but right now they have the look of an average SEC D.... certainly not scary.

The one that scares me the most is my Willie Martinez led DAWG defense (scared me every time our opponent got the ball last year)...

Ask Georgia Tech how 'average' they were. LSU will be either first or second in defense this year.

Chavis's pedigree is obvious. LSU's recruiting success is obvious. LSU's defensive standings every year except 2008 and the co-coordinators is obvious.

Yet somehow all of this is forgotten by the short-sighted and the wishful thinkers among our opponents. The people who count out LSU's defense in 2009 are oblivious.

The LSU rush defense was strong last year. GA Tech played right into your co-def coordinators hands because they had no passing game. Tyson Jackson (although a meh pass rusher) was a good run-stuffing DE and now he's gone.

Balanced teams victimized your back seven in 08 - it remains a huge question mark w/ or w/o Chavis.

Chavis will help, but the progression of your CBs and safeties will be key to your 09 defense.

I'm not counting them out- I actually picked them as the 4th best defense in the SEC if someone in your secondary steps it up.

All the posts from other SEC schools besides Ole Miss have stated that LSUs defense will be scary. It just goes to show you the dreamland Ole Piss is living in.

That's because they like to kiss LSU's arse

It's the first time we've ever had high expectations - we can't help it

Yeah...5-stars or not, if they are running the wrong schemes it will never work. Our secondary will be the strong point of our defense this year.
