on Thursdays and Fridays in the regular season unless it's Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe you guys didn't get the memo. But those dates are left for the lessers.

It's been 107 degrees for like 40 straight days I'm glad we get a Friday night game on a holliday weekend.

I hear you, and we've always thought the same but it was moved to 7:00pm on a Friday to avoid the 112° heat index. I am cool with it because it opens up the rest of labor day weekend

Night game to avoid heat. Friday on front of Labor Day weekend frees up my weekend. All is good. These week 1 OOC games are free to schedule when it makes sense ……

My guess is that if this weren't labor day weekend they would have just had this on Saturday night. But they realized that this particular Labor Day... It is going to be a HUGE lake weekend for Oklahoma. So Friday night makes way more sense than Saturday in this instance.

I wish TX would play at night this Friday instead of 2:30 in 100 degree weather. But that wouldn't fly with the high school games and would create a lot of conflict.

given how much georgia gets to avoid the top teams in the SECW, i thought this statement was going to end a little differently

"historically good/great teams don't play" all major OOC opponents at neutral sites to prop up their home winning records.

I’ll take Friday night game over Saturday afternoon. Plus with it being Holiday weekend as well.

My guess is lawyers were involved wit this one. You get a player or someone in the stands have heat stroke, you can have some major liability despite whatever cover you typically get with implied consent.

Friend, there has been no SEC west for a couple years now. Sorry old timer.

ZeroU fans were just giving USC shite about their low crowds when it was 100 degrees for a noon game….
Then run away to Friday night?!
My favorite part about this response was that I could give two shits about USC…
OU Boi

Yes. But tell me about how you can get to the beach in less than 30 min from Norman.
Or be up in the mountains if you drive an hour or so in the other direction (traffic permitting of course).

bullshite excuses. There was a beach picture posted that day and it was very light. We have some good hills an hour away.
Over 13m people within 50 miles of stadium.
Folks like you are just circle jerking coming up with excuses. Just admit that fanbase is fair weather fans. That term was likely invented in Southern Cali.
Bunch of pussies who won’t support players who practiced in heat and then played in that heat. I bet they were awestruck when they saw only maybe 20k fans in stands.”bullshite excuses. I’ve been to plenty of super hot games in Norman and the stadium was full. OU fans would have shown up regardless of the heat on Saturday but the move to Friday just makes sense. We got some heavy bodies in our fanbase that don’t need to risk sitting in the heat that long.
Mizzou is in Big 10 country so I realize you all don’t understand heat, you best leave this to those of us further south.

The timing just cracked me up.
I may extremely dislike you Sooners, but I respect the fanbase for putting butts in the seats no matter what.
I’ll add that the sooner fans I have met in Norman, and in San Antonio & Kansas City for the Big12 championship games were all class.

You are an idiot.
It was not moved due to heat. It was moved to give us an extra day to prep vs Michigan which we play @ Michigan the following Sat at 11am. I assume most here want the SEC team to beat B10 team from all the off season posts I saw. This gives us an extra day to have the best chance.
It will help with heat but for example its 94 right now which will be during the late 2nd qtr this Fri. its gonna be hot either way.
