both getting up there in eligibility. Ridley and Foster both have another year after this one too. Stewart as well.

Foster and Stewart are both redshirt juniors this year. Ridley is a true sophomore.

Yea - I doubt Falkins every does much. I think Sims has a shot to add some solid minutes. This is from the spring.
Cam Sims back healthy, doing a "really, really good job" - AL.com
quote:
While Alabama has three of the top receivers in the SEC — Ridley, Foster and Stewart — Sims is, at the very least, putting himself in position to play a role as a reserve.
"I think we have three guys that are ahead of the rest, although I think Cam Sims has really had a good spring," coach Nick Saban said of Sims, who had two catches for 47 yards in the Tide's second spring scrimmage on Saturday. "He's healthy. Last year, he struggled a lot coming off the knee, and then he had a hamstring. He never really was full speed, but he's done a really, really good job."

I know about Ridley
Foster isn't coming back next year. Stewart probably wouldn't either, but maybe.

Bama is loaded at WR, most all of whom return for 2017 and is set to sign maybe the top WR class come February. I don't blame him at all and wish him the best.

Alabama's receivers are as talented as they come, but it's not as scary as it has been in past years. Guys like Blake Sims, Jacob Coker, AJ McCarron, Greg McElroy and John Parker Wilson could all go downfield much better than Cooper Bateman.
Seems like there won't be as many shots downfield this year, and more of a ball control type offense. Slants, digs, outs, wide receiver screens, etc. I doubt we see as many double moves unless Cooper Bateman's deep ball improves dramatically.

The transfer is the only senior of the bunch.

Assuming Bateman is the starter for the entire 2016 season is a huge leap. I believe Blake and Hurts both have a legit chance to win the job, especially if multiple QB's split playing time the first 2-3 games as has been the case the last couple of QB battles. Both of the young guys have cannons, and I'm not convinced Bateman can't improve enough to toss a few down the field for our WR's to go up and grab.

Bama didnt go deep much at all last year either. Ridley averaged like 11 yards a catch

much better than Cooper Bateman.
I'm rooting for Hurts, btw. He seems to have....."it."

We didn't do it a ton, but we did it some and had success doing it. Ridley's average was hurt by jet sweeps that are really run plays but count as pass plays.

Not true. He was also told he could transfer to:

The Professional Truck Driving Institute
International Correspondence School

Which is one of the reasons I'm not as sure he will be the guy, regardless of him being the oldest. I think they know that with the abilities we have on the outside and our style that the QB just has to has the ability to beat a team down the field.
He may still win the job, but this year more than others they might be willing to pick a guy with some issues because he can stretch the defense.

Yea, once Coker became semi-comfortable we started going downfield a lot more.
Look how Coker's YPA progressed :
August/September : 6.4 YPA
October : 8.3 YPA
November : 7.5 YPA
December/January : 10.2 YPA
Same with Ridley :
August/September : 7.35 YPA
October : 14.29 YPA
November : 12.09 YPA
December/January : 11.55 YPA
Stewart went from 8.4 to around 12 as well.
Ole Miss game we started to have him go downfield at least once or twice a game. By the Auburn game we were doing it 4-5 times a game.

Let Alabama get into a groove running or with short passes, and then watch what the do
