Millions that can't go to football NIL.

Universities pay coaches not NIL money. Private business and collectives pay NIL . Universities can facility conversations between businesses and collectives, but they don't pay NIL money.

Does this mean you follow girl's sports and are offended that others don't?

If so, that creepy.

How much time and money does espn have to spend on promoting women's basketball to get those kinds of ratings? I would hope they finally get some decent ratings after spending 3 decades trying to shove women's basketball down their viewers throats.

This is completely incorrect. Universities do not pay coaches in high level division 1 athletics. Athletic departments pay coaches. They are separate financial entities. A major part of athletic department revenue, is booster money. That money is used to finance athletic department projects like stadium upgrades and...coaches salaries. So, yes it hurts NIL. By having to pay her 6 million a year on a financial loser, the athletic department will seek more money from boosters to finance the athletic department. Money that those boosters could otherwise send to the NIL collective.

TWO new arrangements are going to make a large infusion of revenue into wbb programs. One is that WBB in the new SEC media contract finally have large designated funds near what MBB earns. Two is that the revenue from the NCAA WBB Ty, which is large and growing, will be shared with tournament teams. These two factors will make successful WBB programs like Carolina and LSU end up with tiny losses or even net profits.

WBB at the college level is on the rise.

The more they force it, the less interest people have. Again, could not care less if they were successful or not. This sports, not life.

anyone naysaying women's sports clearly has never been to a small town where the only team bringing in the State Shaped Trophy is a woman's team that everyone loves

Raises hand.

The only decent sport my high school had was girl's basketball. Four straight Final Fours and three state titles. Now their daughters are playing and they are about to start another run.

Dawn Staley and South Carolina have agreed to a contract extension that once again makes her the highest-paid coach in the sport. The extension will run through the 2029-30 season and her annual salary will increase to $4 million.

It’s too bad that the entire structure of sport is racist and all of those white women make more than her, because they’re white…just imagine if she were paid commensurate with her ability as a coach…that would be something

It's the 3rd biggest sport in the conference and the mouth breathers can't fathom it. Love it.

It kind of reminds me of the insanity on LSU’s end to give orgeron an insane contract.

Who was ever going to poach Orgeron? Who would ever poach Staley with her previous salary?
