It is easy to say after that foul ball that was the year but we don't know that and no coach will ever say publicly that this is our year. Tennessee thought so but couldn't make it out of a super. If anything it will most likely happen when you least expect it.

DVH has won 11 CWS games here.

LSU had a huge talent advantage over DVH in his early days.

I hope so. Sometimes the CWS just feels like:

His game management is so poor that Arkansas placed third in the CWS.

We all question his decision making but he is a lot more in the right than in the wrong. He did make seven CWS appearances and winning 11 of those were not as a result of bad decision making.

But for any hog fan that wants to him gone, I can guarantee you that Arkansas will be blasted from the media, current and former coaches around the nation, former and current Arkansas players. Recruiting would surely suffer and the momentum would be sucked in by a black hole.

Arkansas fans don't understand how good they have it, this is the golden age of Arkansas baseball. If you don't like it because of coming up short foul ball, we could always go back to 90s Arkansas baseball.

I agree with that. But I also think that we can go higher. I think DVH needs a reminder (as in from within) that he’s done what he’s done and he has or can acquire everything he needs to win it all finally. But you and others may be right. It may happen when we least expect it or it may start happening. I DO hope he takes a hard look at our hitting coach’s performance over his tenure here.

The more appearances that you make it to Omaha, the higher chances of winning it. I still don't believe he can do it but this is because I don't get my hopes up high and not let myself be disappointed like I did in my younger days. But DVH has proven his critics wrong before and this season has proven he still has the fire to get to Omaha after what happened last year.

When I’m even keel, that’s where I’m at. During the heat of things I vacillate. But I’m a realist. This was a great postseason compared to how we finished the regular season and it certainly doesn’t hurt us in any way going to Omaha on a routine basis. Now, if we hit 10-15 trips without hardware, I might say we’re just cursed.

How many college baseball dynasties do you know right now? I don't any right now. Arkansas can't go any higher than they are now, they are competing for titles each year since that foul ball. Will Arkansas win it? It is easy for me to say no but sometimes you just have that feeling that they are close to breaking that barrier.

This is the golden age because we have an avenue to watch it. No one gave a crap before when radio or the newspaper was the only way to keep up with it. I didn’t have a station to listen to it on so I was in the dark. I was driving home from El Dorado one evening and a Crossett station had our game on against Wichita st in our regional where Toops hit the grand slam to get us into the final. I almost tore the steering wheel off.

When I got home I was able to park in the back yard just well enough to listen to the second game through static for us to win regional. I love the Hogs and that was a great moment for my wife and I who sat with me and had a few beers and enjoyed the moment.

If championships are all that is important to a fan then I feel sorry for them.

Brady Toops Grand Slam and Chuck's call of it on state wide radio is THE turning point in razorback baseball history. More so the state wide radio contact that has just gotten put in place than anything else but Brady most definitely made the moment what it was.

True and I’m hoping so too. Last “dynasty” (and I guess that might be debatable) that I feel like I’ve seen within the last 20 years was USCe. But even they didn’t win it all every year and Tanner worked his arse off to get there. So yeah, still holding out hope. Plus, we don’t have this guy anymore:

I saw the look on the face of Vitello after they lost to Notre Dame. He just looked on and stood in one spot. That experience humbled him and you will probably see a cooled off Vitello from now on.

I think so. It would probably be difficult to be that young and have that much success so quick and not get cocky. He was fine when he was here as far as I know. If anything, tenner fans attitudes’ have probably rubbed off on him for the worse.

It is the golden age because this is the most successful era in history. It helps that fans no longer have to listen to the radio. But winning gets those attendance numbers up when fans by the hundreds are waiting outside the gate for hours trying to find that good spot in the general admission area.

Thank you Dave for hanging around all these years and building our program to the point where elite talent wants to play here. And thanks to the fans who come out and support the team and make these kids want to play here.

We are on the way up……..Go Hogs!

We are definitely trending up. DVH has been here 20 years. And his best 5 year stretch have been the last 5.
