He hates traveling for recruiting.
Florida you don't have to travel.
Not a big deal at all really.
Chip Kelly would be an absolute home freaking run. His biggest weakness at Oregon was his offensive and defensive lines. That won't be an issue here.

You sure you want this guy? 18 month show cause penalty would be enough to deter me.
Lotta upside, but lotta red flags. I say this out of respect for the program and university.

Like he wasn't #1 and everyone didn't know it.

It wasn't just his distaste for recruiting that drove him from the college ranks. There was an article from his time at the Eagles, an associate of the team was quoted as saying Kelly just wanted to coach football. He did not get along with having to kiss boosters' butts, he did not like having to babysit 80+ players, he did not get along with the administration at Oregon. He just wanted to coach. Will see if he's changed but he's still getting a ton of money from his former teams, so he will have his choice of jobs. And the Gator job is known to be a high pressure position.

Think of all that speed the state produces
There is speed everywhere to be recruited. Can he field a tough D year in and out? And the guy will be a newbie in the South. But, it’s enticying for sure and our D would welcome the challenge

I guess you missed the insider the other day that said that uf got the all clear from both the ncaa, and the sec??

I hear the NCAA Infractions committee is leasing office space in Gainesville in anticipation of Chip Kelley moving to town.

Didnt take Philly fans long to turn on him and UF is worse

This would be a fantastic hire and we'll be competing for championships by year two. I'm ready for more spread at UF

Every tweet and report has been about the Gators being interested in Chip Kelly. Nobody has addressed if Chip Kelly has any interest in being the next Florida head coach. Kelly can rest on his arse for the next two years and he will still be paid $12 million by the 49ers. The man has zero incentive to coach unless he feels like it's the perfect situation for him.

You think UF ask the SEC for clearance and the NCAA...but hasn't even spoken to Kelly? That would be...kind of dumb honestly. Why waste time if you haven't gauged interest from the guy? Kelly to UF makes sense for Kelly, and UF.
Kelly is a better college than pro coach. He hated traveling to recruit(don't have to at UF). He runs a speed based spread, and Florida has a ton of high school spread teams ready for his system day one.
Makes sense for Florida in that UF wants excitement back at UF. I think Kelly to UF would be the biggest hire since Meyer to OSU in terms of talk and hype from the media perspective.
UF getting Kelly would be considered a home run. Sometimes they don't work out, but usually they seem to. His offenses worked in the NFL as well, so not like the SEC defenses would scare him all that much if he has SEC players(which he didn't at Oregon).

People are claiming that UF is vetting him. Would be interesting seeing what he could do in this Conference.
