This could literally be Boom and McElwain too.

At a certain point, it becomes like Texas and maybe it’s not JUST the coach.

In all fairness to Mullen, the team was due for a letdown after that epic come from behind victory against Samford. They ran out of gas

Hey wasn’t he the one who said Florida from State was a lateral move???

I’m sure they won’t get too upset with a losing season.

Nah

Muschamp was bad from the get go. He had a pretty stacked roster and momentum from 2 recent national championships. The 2012 season he had a good record, but if you watched the games you know he just got lucky. They needed a last second blocked punt to beat Louisiana Lafayette. They were a handful of defensive scores from .500. The Sugar Bowl beatdown by Louisville should have clarified that for the casual viewer. 2013 was pretty much the same as 2012, but the inverse with regard to luck.

McElwain had no real opposition in division. 2 SEC East titles, but the team with the previous 2 was Missouri. He had terrible teams from the jump that got absolutely humiliated in Atlanta. Things looked good for a minute with Will Grier, but never recovered after he pissed hot.

I mean, you may (or may not) still have a point about Florida, but Mullen's trajectory is not the same at all.
