Dan Mullen would have no reason to take that job. He's already making over $6 million/year and, absent a huge collapse, will likely get a substantial raise after the season. Why leave a great situation at Florida making plenty of money to go try to revive a dumpster fire program at Texas that has given its past 2 coaches 3 years?

Good lord Texas has an ego problem. They thought they could poach Saban a few years back and now they think they can poach Mullen from UF. Not gonna happen, UF has one of if not the best Athletic departments in the NCAa.

They really do think way too much of their selves.

Because the Big 12 is much easier. All Mullen has to do is get past Oklahoma.

Florida is a better job.

Except Gainesville is a really shite town. So maybe Texas is a better job.

would be not surprising, at all, if this leak to Chip Brown originated from Sexton.

Agree with everything you posted. However, I look at a guy like Mullin. He knows that his chances of winning a SEC title are pretty steep, having to play UGA every year with the recruiting classes they pull. Then he has to deal with Saban if he is fortunate enough to beat Kirby as he did this season.

For me, there sure are a lot better places to make your bones than in the SEC if you're sincerely looking to make the playoffs on the regular.

I’m not an A&M fan by all means, but when Texas has the balls to play Aggie again, I hope Aggie and the yell boys whip their arse.

100% Dan is working on a raise.

Mullen is making 6.1 M while his peers are at 9.1 (Saban), 7.5 (Jimbo), 7.0 (Smart), & ~7 (O).

Highly doubt he leaves for Texas but if he does I don’t think UF would have a hard time finding another good HC willing to take over the roster we’ll have next season.

Is it better to make the playoffs more and get blasted annually like Oklahoma....or to have a tougher road to get there but have a shot when you do?

Florida has a very real shot of doing just that this year, and Mullen has a top 10 class right now. It's not exactly difficult to get talent to Florida, especially if you have a coach like Mullen winning. And he clearly knows how to develop QBs, which is seemingly half the battle these days.

Mullen is going to get a huge raise and be in Gainesville for the foreseeable future

That sounds just like what MSU fan said a few years ago.

"Zero chance Mullen leaves MSU for UF."

No doubt about it. Hell, forget about the talent coming in, UF is a destination program that all but one or two guys would leave their present schools to coach.

I don't think anyone said that. I think it was more "Florida isn't going to offer him."
